Backing up the CD

Postby JonathanAu on Wed Oct 12, 2005 7:23 pm

I don't want to scratch my CD by having to insert it everytime I want to play. Is it legal to copy it and keep the original? Tried doing this but CD seems protected. I'm geting an error, even when I'm using VirtualCD.

Any advice?

it is legit to backup your own copy but due to the copy protection it's very hard to do so.

I don't know if this would be considered as legal talk or not but since he just wants to back it up, I'll assume that it's legit.

I believe you can make an ISO file using Daemon tools or Alcohol 120%, then burn the ISO file onto a cd and it should work. I've done it before, but not with this game.

yea Daemon Tools is the best thing (make sure u have the new safedisc), I always make ISO's of the games i buy, and burn them on a rewriteable blank DVD till i run out of room, cuz everytime i let soem1 borrow my game being the good guy i am i always get it back f-ed up lol, and my lil cuzins always take it too withoutaskin....so backup is always good if u kno how 2 do it, and u dont distrubte it for profit or illegal downloadin, then its all good ;)
