NBA Live 2006 Wishlist

These are my ideas for a great BBall Game

*Give me half time replays or at least photos from the game of the outstanding players for each team(as in ESPN). And at the end of games.
*Let me save replays (PS2) to brag about plays with friends
*Bring me back the play amimations to know how the plays and strategies run
*Multiple team Dynasties
*Create a Team
*Training mini game were you have to go trugh the training session succesfully for your player to increase his rating
*Also Team Training mini game for your team to go succesfully trugh a session for it to be succesfull
*In Dynasty make the players ask for trades or contract extensions or more playing time etc
*How about Technical Fouls. This is something that has been out of all BBall games for ever. They don,t have to fight to get call for technicals and tossed out of games
*For instance give us the ability to argue calls and that would create oportunities to get technical fouls and also some calls to be reversed
*I think EA leaves the catchup bug for the game to be more difficult. But if they make the AI make more Fastbreaks and take the catchup thing out they let us make fastbreaks as well and make the games more fun.
(But don,t sacrifice difficulty for this. What I love of 05 is difficulty).

Career Mode

You can create a player import stats and then the computer would generate attributes. Then you will be placed in the draft pool and be picked. You can play or simulate the game but when you play you can only controll yourself. You would be able to compain about not enough playing time or not enough touches. You can also demand a trade. The CPU handles the front office so you could be traded or cut. You can also coose when to retire.

yeah i love that idea. i recon it should be like so u can create a player and then control him. so like u just graduated from wherever and u have been placed in the draft pool. u can do training sessions and so the more u do the better u become. and u can trade from team to team. be like ebing in the nba urself u know. and have the camera view in the game not 1st person but closer so u only play with ur guy. and after u retire u an become a coach or manager or something. i recon this would be a awesome implement in live.

that also sounds good to me, but here's something, i think they should have next year, i say what about personalizing your shoes, like for us people who dont have the stuff pc-cd users can do with the colors of shoes, say if u create a player for the lakers, u want the hurache kobe wears but they only have them in those regular colors, u might wanna match, so i was thinking about like a nikeid.nike.com thing, pick where u want it, get it, and bam, u're down, but u have to do like all shoes and buy them from the stroe first. what about that.

Having played the game on the PC finally, I can say that EA outdid themselves this year.

I was wrong about reusing Marv and Mike's lines from last year - even though there are some recurring phrases, I think EA threw in a ton of new audio candy, so in terms of the wishlist, just keep it up, EA. Props.

I only have a couple of suggestions:

Passing: I don't mind a fast break stopping because a pass goes too high and the recipient has to jump to catch it. But that should only happen if the passer a) doesn't have good passing skills, and b) if their offensive awareness is low. That's a lot more realistic. Otherwise, if the passer is good, he should execute a fluid pass in transition.

Cutscenes: add some more, but specifically, I noticed that as soon as a quarter is finished, all of the players on the court just freeze in place. Maybe you can have an animation in the background to give the sense that action is still going on even though the stats screen comes up - more like a live broadcast. With that in mind, maybe having a half-time show with cheerleaders or arena games/contests just in the background. Nothing major, but something.

In-Game saves: for the love of God, PLEASE bring them back - I don't know how many times I've said this!

Replay saves: ditto

Quarter/half replay compilations: I know this is a tough one, but maybe after a quarter, there can be scenes from the best plays of the previous quarter/half.

Courtside commentary: adding a female voice: like Cheryl Miller to do a courtside commentary every once in a while - e.g. when a player is injured or to get some quotes from the coach or team members, etc.

Instant replays: allow instant replay even after the whistle is blown - i.e. at the end of a quarter, after a foul is called.

That's all I got so far, EA. But keep up the great work!

ok well 2 things I thought about that aren't in the game, not sure if it could be done, but the 5 second post up rule (the Charles Barkley/Mark Jackson rule) and FT lane violations. during free throws, players cannot move, but maybe they shouldn't lock players into place and call lane violations whenever they go in too early...

and I'd like to improve training camp with drills like in Madden...

there could be blocking, rebounding, shooting, defensive, and passing drills.

and MULTI-PLAYER DYNASTY MODE!!!


edit: oh and they should do the pressure sensitive passing like Madden too cuz I hate it how every pass is a freaking lob so it gets picked every single time!

Do Not Alter the Gameplay just tweak minor issues( repeat )
Fix the Freestyle Air animation( no going out of bounds when you are clearly in bounds but landing or shooting behind the backboard)

Distinguish between two legged leapers(power dunks) and one legged gliders(finesse dunks,gliders)

Posterized(snap shot of dunk on another player) for end of season

Create a team Logo and Create a tattoo(Custom Team and Creat a Player)

A focused team stragedy, focusing on your teams strengths and exploits opponents weakness
User Profiles( for storing stats and most importantly plays)

Account for players momentum and stop and go movements, i.e. Madden, for defender as well as offensive players
(more agile players cut faster and recover quicker from jumping and landing to jumping again, also recover faster if faked out)
Image running hard to the right with your defenderin front ,forcing him to move hard to his left to stay in front, you make an immediate stop:
Option 1: Pull up for a J
Option 2: spin, drive for lay -up or dish if defender rotates off teammate
Option 3: Freestyle to left quick then follow Options 1 or 2
Fix the fastbreak where player(other than primary ball catcher) continue to run towards the basket instead of stopping on the wing
Make sure fundamentals are included

During post play the defender can "Pull the Chair" on the offensive player forcing a steal or out of bounds turnover

Allow importing of March Madness players
In CAP make players able to change hairstyles( afro to braids and vice versa, red hair to green hair to orange etc, low cut to need a cut during the course of the season or diffrent games i. e. exhibition mode)

Authentic(for CPU controlled teams)team specific plays and sets( customizable plays for your team)

In Game Save

Custom team Logos and/or names: Angels, Cross, Bats, Wings, Swords, Scorpions, Soldiers, etc..

REMOVE the CPU catch up BUG, it's still in the game. Yao MIng will never catch Tony Parker on the break, never


the ability to follow your shot!!!!!!!!

Remove the stiff player(still in previous animation) after the shot goes up or shot is blocked.

Authentic Team Playbooks with CPU teams playing like real team
CPU players moving on defense and offense like they are supposd
Plays actually being executed in the game when you call for them

In Bounding play calling

For Create A Player:

Account for spot up shooters and off dribble shooters
more hair styles
more facial hair styles
Implement a feature for player wing spans

Training:

Everyone can't be Tim Duncan with his fundamentals around the basket but you should atleast have a big man training mode so you can know what kind of big man you have

Also guards should have a camp to see what kind of players they are. Can they handle the ball, are they good defenders or shooters or both
How's the mid range game, 3 point range etc.

Make training camp enjoyable.

These are just ideas but fix the gameplay before focusing on this because the 5 on 5 is what keeps me buying this product not the extras.

*better rosters on Decade allstar teams (Gary P and Spud Webb are the PG's on 05's 1990's allstars!? What a joke! Should be John Stockon and Isiah Thomas!)

* Stronger In Depth Franchise Mode, Change Name of Dynasty Mode to a more catchy name.

1. Have ability to practice with players. Really practice and run players and practice defense, I mean it'll increase ratings minutely but also decreases fitness level n may cause injury in practice too if u take it too hard....this will also allow u to practice to play before u step onto the court...they really should have a stronger practice feature.
2. Have better increasing decreasing of ratings as season is over.
3. Ability to hire coaches (assistants, permanent ones) and also fire/hire head coach, have real coaches. Say u can fire Mike Woodson and then try hire Don Chaney or even go and see some other avail coaches(unknown guys like NCAA ones even).
4. Better rookies, not have undersized guards and 5"5 players as top 10 picks or even rated high enuff to be drafted.
5. Ability to sign like 20 players, u know come training camp so u can really have a neat roster.
6. Add summer leagues, no need of ability to play them but simming them will be fine.
7. Ability to sign extension, eg when player is on last year of contract to offer extension.
8. Reduce bug of big name players not signing, sometimes u get a big name free agent not playing for a team till the very last end he signs up for a 1 year deal.
9. Expansion feature, ability to create your own team and have an expansion draft etc and build the team blah blah.
10. Include team chemistry and playbook effectiveness.
11. Better season awards selection.
12. Have suspensions and ejections, like if a player is having a offnite say shooting real bad.....have like maybe a heat/temper meter if u say bench him or his opponent starts going on fire then the player just blows n punches/kicks/sucks/fucks or watever. (this is just a stupid idea but hey it'll be sick if they had it)
13. Better animated David Stern
14. Have player happiness, players get distruntled and might want to trade.....several factors such as team record, new players added, players removed, rebulidng factor, share the ball factor ( applies for AI, VC and T-Mac only ) etc.
15. I dunno but just make the dynasty mode way way more in-depth, make us feel like we really r our running a team in the NBA.

* Other stuff

1. Make a really good create a player thingie, like Tiger Woods has..u can really get a detail face.
2. Generate realistic looking rookies in dynasty mode(should go above I guess).
3. Improve Gameplay, ability to truly run plays and sorta have a play animation at the bottom of the screen showing where u should pass in the play u have set up n stuff.
4. Have ability to Coach a team, u know as in u can not player but coach(though its kinda unneccesarry)
5. Create a team feature, or at least have Expansion Team feature mentioned above.
6. Better more realistic sound, dunks r sometimes still a bit loud.

* Neat but not neccessary

1. Have players in warmups
2. Show coaches, assistant coaches and mascots and cheerleaders for more realistic feel.
3. Show more unusual stats, and also bring back the best player of the quarter feature ala Live 2000.
4. Add a bit more cut scenes, not at all neccessary but would add realism to the game
5. Have some ROCK music, im sick of non-stop rap tracks...or at least make it easy to have our own music and make a simple system...where u just can put MP3's (legal issues maybe a prob)
6. Create a jersey for existing team(not so neccesarry)
7. Have the moving shirt thingie ESPN 2k3 or 4 had..or still has

I'd love to see the ability to export rosters out of dynasty mode and also the option to use the rosters in a new live. Say if i do a dynasty with Chicago, and I play 4 seasons, then live 2006 comes out, I want to continue my dynasty in 2006... Man I'd love for that to happen.

yeh total club manager and fifa integrated a system, hopefully live does it too...although problem is they keep adding to dynasty mode...so say 06 has like new stuff added(cant give ex's right now) it might affect it....dunno but yeh it'll be a neat add but it might be kinda messy.

there should be a tip off in the game when the ball is "dead". This is the usual thing in the basketball game, and it should be in the game...
player personalities should be added to. for example, players that are more agressive in real life should behave like that in the game too...
and some player special abilities would be nice... example : Peja Stojakovic is great shooter for 3, especially on the corner three's, from the angles..
He almost, never miss from that position...
there should be more option to dunk in the game...
also players should express some emotions on specific situations..
let it be REALLY Live
Players should be called sometimes for steps...it's a bassic thing that happens in real life..
There should be player animation shooting like in live '01 (Jason Kidd free throw kiss)..
Jason Kidd/Allen Iverson no look pass should be in game too..
Nick Van Exel shoots penalty further than normal..
And Allen Iverson self lay up would be cool...
And wtf, Bibby have dunk rating 33 ?!?
This is funny, because, he cannot dunk...

They should react to dunks too...
And there should be more in game hanging time on the rim like in real life..
Other than that is REALLY cool...
I think that they (EA) should add Dennis Rodman to the '90 all star..
It'shame that one of the best jumpers in NBA history is not in the game..
Graphics, gameplay, player faces and headshape, body shape....all new feautures...
And the fastbreak problem is solved

It was very funny to see in live 2004 that Shaq can catch up Iverson
that dissapointed me so much, that i could'nt play the game as i would like to..

Get Manu Ginobili to Mo Cap himself in the next game. Seriously, nobody plays like this guy. he is a true baller with energy and fearlessness. Good for b-ball if only you could see him play more often during the regular season. I need NBA league pass.

12. Make past player look like the way they really looked in their past like Shaq in the 90's looks the same as Shaq on the heat same with Karl Malone.

13. Make rookie challenge teams for the past and able to use in rookie challenge same with all-star teams.

14. Team NBA loge socks and other logos like Nike, Reebok, and Adidas.

15. Some thing like the hit stick in madden for defense to make a big game changing steal or block for the analog stick.

16. Authentic stadiums and more detail of them.

17. An owner mode where fans will come if prices are good and team is doing will some thing like madden.

18. Ability to trade future draft picks and more than 3 players.

20. An interactive training camp mode where if the 2nd string plays 1st. 2nd will better and player ratings get better or worse matters the way they play.

21. Freestyle passing for fast breaks like 1 on 3 and on 5 on 5.

22. When picking player for 1 on 1 and practice they look like they would in the game the same as 2004 but better detail.

23. Practice mode and 1 on 1 in season modes.

24. Continue graphics to get better especially on logos, shoes, faces, and Basketballs.

Gameplay:

1. More variations on standard alley-oops, like double-pump lay-ups or incorporate the dunks from the All-Star game into regular play.

Dynasty:

2. A way to allocate minutes for simulated games, within a certain bracket (eg. Tracy McGrady to play 35-40 minutes, but Bob Sura to play 10-15 as a bench guy). All minutes must be allocated to add up to 48 (or however many it is) over the five positions (a total of 240 minutes to be shared). Would mean you could give reserve guys minutes as yoou wish.

3. More interactivity in the GM ranks, and more pressure on your job. Fail too often with the team, and you get the sack, and become a guy looking for work. Maybe incorpate owner goals, like reaching the playoffs, and then getting to the second round (as seen in ESPN NFL series). If you had a poor record as a GM and were fired, the worst teams would target you. But if you'd won championships, big teams would headhunt you.

4. The above idea could be improved by having owners send messages saying stuff like, "I want you two superstars with 85 ratings", or "We need to cut the team salary to below 40 million." If you do a good job and fulfil the wishes, this boosts your GM rating (in GM History), but if you displease him and the move doesn't pay off, it plummets. Other team owners send you emails promising more control over the roster, and show you stats to prove their worth the move. Your GM History rating determines which teams come after you.

Just a few cosmetic improvements for the Hall of Fame, which as a 3D area is great:

4. When viewing retired jerseys, show the players' points, rebounds and assists averages for their career over the span of the dynasty (eg. under Shaq's jersey: 30.2ppg, 12.5rpg, 3.7apg). Also, list any awards (eg. 2004-05 NBA MVP)
