Here's an idea I dont think anyone has ever tried. Do you know how to edit .iff files? Specifically, the teaser music that plays at the beginning of a game, where it shows both teams playing with the default soundtrack n the background?

For years this couldnt be changed because no one could locate the sound files. Problem is they were looking in the wrong place. It's actually stored as an .iff file

It sounds like you found the songs. Just make a backup and mess around with it. If MP3S don't work, try .ogg or something. Just make sure the length of the song you are putting in is the same or within 10 seconds less of the original.

I'm not sure what you mean Dee. They are .iff files, so they arent read by the NBA 2K Audio Editor. I did mess around with it by switching one .iff with the others, and I found a muted teaser .iff, and replaced them all with that. But have not be able to find anyway to add a specific song and replace.

I'm not sure what you mean Dee. They are .iff files, so they arent read by the NBA 2K Audio Editor. Have you tried opening the .iff with 7 ZIP (Open the archive). What type of files are in there?

When I try to open any of the files with 7zip, it says "cannot open file as archive"

Sorry, I am far to entrenched in the 2k17 modding world. I can't really look into this right now..

Well, ive managed to figure out this much on my own if nothing else


The teaser music files from 2k14 can be replaced with ones from 2k13 and 2k12. Ypu just have to rename them the 2k14 names, and then replace them. Still looking to be able to customize them however.
