Did NBA 2K originally have plans to support user-created content (mods) as early as NBA 2K10? We discuss the possibility of NBA 2K allowing mods to be downloadable content after discovering an actual NBA 2K file that shows us a very familiar mod that has been done through the years. We also discuss in this article why it may have been discontinued.

How about an easter egg? Like they're "paying homage" to the modders for all of their works.

It looks like unused content left over from something, but I don't think it has anything to do with modding.
