Hi,

I wanted to create a new thread because I was thinking i would get a quicker response.

I did a few edits with the plays.dbf and teams.dbf with my latest unreleased aiact.
The changes have affected game play in a positive way. i think .
After the edits it seems there are more :
-balance of post play mid range and 3 point shots.
-The players with the highest primacy are the go to players who score most often.

Examples:
2002 Lakers, Shaq receives the majority of touches in the low post, with Kobe shooting a majority of mid-range jumpers.
1996 bulls. MJ receives most of touches on the low block for a 15 foot turnaround.
2015 Dubs. 30 ft 3 point shots from curry off a screen.

Other observations:
I think the hotspots are useless. I'm not sure they affect the game play at all for the pc version. I just edit the scorearea and shot range values.

playmap: I'm not sure this dbf affects anything either. I believe this file is for mapping quickplays only.
From my testing it seems that plays.dbf, defplays.dbf and the plays numbers entered into the teams.dbf have the most affect on game play.

In the next few days I'll want to release :
updated aiact
default 2008 roster with edited teamplays.
modified plays.dbf and defplays.dbf.

I just want to see if my changes actually work for everyone else.

Interesting stuff! Unfortunately I don't have much free time to be a tester, but I'd definitely be interested to know more about the changes.

I've been just trying different things with the plays.dbf. trying to figure out how to increase post play and passing.

in the plays dbf you can see for play 126:
the p2 and p3 boxes are empty. I'm not really sure what the values mean, so i wanted to see what would happen if i filled those boxes in.
My guess is p1 thru 3 means:
p1 = preferred shooter
p2 = second option
p3 = 3rd option
Also there are boxes with the header named pgr, sgr,sfr,pfr, and cr.

If you look thru all the play files the (pgr, sgr,sfr,pfr, and cr.) either have a 0 or a 3 filled in the box.

For play # 126 motion offense I wanted to make the power forward the go to guy.
I changed the p1 = pf, p2 = sg , p3 = c

I also changed the pfr, sgr, and cr entries to a "3" ( i actually learned this trick by searching thru the forums. I'm not sure who found it.)

This is basically a 2 team demo.
'08 cavs vs '08 spurs

Modifications:
- lowered all players strength and speed -15.
- modified plays.dbf and defplays.dbf
- changed opmain and dpmain to auto switch (980 and 981)
- modified aiact
- custom team plays

Lebron should be the high scorer for the cavs while Duncan should lead the spurs.

I would like to hear from feedback for anyone who tries it. Stats screen shots, suggestions anything... thanks

yes. i follow what is written in notepad. It crashes right before the play start.
