Many consider Kobe Bryant the second greatest 2-guard after Jordan. For me, it's a tie between Kobe and Jerry West.

Weird, because I thought Jordan AND Kobe was in the discussion of the greatest SG of all time.

All Kobe supporting evidence are baseless opinions. There never was a real Jordan and Kobe discussion.

MJ still is in his own league especially when it comes to SG position.

I think Joel Anthony is a terrible player. There I said it.

And if Grant Hill never became injury prone, T-Mac would probably be 2nd fiddle to Hill. (Not sure if unpopular)

I'll throw another one out there that is arguably becoming an unpopular opinion: though I certainly believe there have been times where officials have performed badly, and situations that the league has not handled appropriately, I don't buy into any of the conspiracy theories that make the rounds, nor the notion that the league is rigged in any way.

I have one - Kobe was statistically never the best player in the league for a full season.

I don't even think Kobe is the best shooting guard the Lakers have ever had, let alone the best player in franchise history.

2005-2006, 2006-2007 led the league in ppg?
It may be one statistic but he still led it for two seasons.

3rd in PER and 4th in win shares in 05-06, 5th in PER and 4th in win shares in 06-07. I will say his 43ppg January in '06 was the most impressive one-month scoring stretch post-merger by a player ever. He averaged 43ppg on .610 TS% that month. Of course, his efficiency went to shit after that to even out his regular season to a 3rd PER finish...

Grizzlies should have remained in Vancouver and the Thunder should have never existed. Who remembers Big Country's legacy now and who is Gary Payton? Sad.

He won MVP one of those years when it should have gone to CP3

Ya that could be good but could be confusing with the draft and stuff I guess.

I know I've posted this before, but Ronnie Turiaf's opinion is relatively unpopular:

I don't like the way the game is changing. Bigs are playing on the perimeter to make enough driving space for athletic combo's. The post game is becoming obsolete. :(

It's considered the forgotten decade, but I loved the NBA during the 70s. The league had its issues, but there was some great basketball being played, especially by my Knicks from 1970-74 (and a terrific rivalry with the Bullets). You had the '71 Bucks, '72 Lakers, '74 Finals (Kareem hitting an amazing shot), Rick Barry in '75, Dr. J & the ABA, Game 5 of the '76 Finals (most incredible playoff game I've ever seen), Bill Walton spearheading Portland's championship run in '77, and those fun Seattle teams in '78 & '79 with Gus 'The Wizard' Williams, Dennis Johnson & 'Downtown' Freddie Brown.
