illusion's All-Star/Superstar Simulation 12mins/q sliders

Hello, fellow nba 2k addicts !!

Im using this thread to give you my first thoughts on this year's nba 2k edition.

I have to admit that this year's nba2k is the best slider-wise out of the box. However, there are still a couple of tweaks you HAVE to make, at least for all of you that wish to experience a SIM game and not constantly having scores like 130-125...

What i have found until now playing already 30 games @ ALL-STAR / SUPERSTAR difficulty and 12 mins/q started with SIM slider settings :

1. SPEED. I had to tone down the following sliders in order to slow things down and make it feel right :
GAME SPEED (Game settingS) : 47/48 (Im using 48)
SPEED (Attributes) : 35 (both cpu/user)

2.SCORING. FG percentages way too high.. So (Using Shot Stick Release) :
Inside Shot Success- 45
Close Shot Success- 45
Mid-Range Success- 46
3PT Success- 46

3. TURNOVERS. We need definitely to pump up turnovers to make it feel realistic :
Pass accuracy : 34/44 (cpu/user). We need to see the ball going out of the court when passing sometimes..

4.CPU Attack in the Paint Relentlessly.
I think this has to be corrected throught Roster modifications and Shooting tendencies.. However, a slider that it seems to help is :
Attack the Basket : 25 . It really helps making cpu run down the clock some more and use some plays..

5.Steals.
Stealing : 50 .Just bumped it up to 50 again over 45 (Sim settings).
Steal Success : 52 (new)
Go for on-ball steals : 70 (new) (Will significantly increase the likelyhood to get more reaching fouls from cpu).
Help Defense Strength : 75

6. Rebounds. Seems ok, but i have the feeling that i have to bump up a bit offensive rebounding for user. I will see later on.

7. Fouls. Pumped up ONLY the following :
Over the Back Foul Frequency- 90
Charging Foul Frequency- 90
Loose Ball Foul Frequency- 90
Shooting (70) and Reaching (75) seems to do the work just fine for me. 20/25 ft attempts average.

Other than those changes, i haven't touched any other slider, starting always with SIM settings. Those changes really helps to bring the simulation out this year's nba2k, which developers dont mind a lot to achieve.. Out of the box it seems too arcade, at least to my eyes..

Later I try out your suggestions, but right now I have only pumped up a defensive awarness for user, then there would be less headless wandering from teammates. Also I have reduced blocking obviously. :P I play superstar/sim.

I will keep Def. Awareness @ 50 for now, i really like the challenge @ ALL-STAR.
No reason to reduce blocks ! Let us please enjoy that we actually can block this year !!
After 20-25 games in a season, i average 6.5. (http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/team/ ... /avgBlocks) Which is pretty realistic for my team Pistons ( Drummond + Smith rock the paint area ! ;P).

Yeah, the CPU three point percentage is also super realistic. Awesome job.

Here's the problem. When you change sliders the CPU/AI team doesn't adjust its game to the sliders. But you adjust your game.

For example, if you change sliders to make outside shooting tougher, you will drive more frequently. The CPU will not. When you adjust sliders, it becomes easier to defeat the CPU/AI team.

I ain't adjusting my games, neither i drive to the paint more just because i lowered the med/3pt sliders. Also, any change i made is the same for user/cpu, so i ain't trying to be cheesy here, i just try to reproduce realistic FG percentages and overall gameplay.
