All-Star Game Starters Announced
Feb 5, 2011
NEW YORK (AP) – New York’s Allen Iverson and Seattle’s Kevin Durant were named as surprise starters for the All-Star Game as both players saw a surge of votes push them ahead of their fellow NBA stars. Iverson only just pipped Washington’s Gilbert Arenas for a starting nod while Durant was an even bigger surprise coming ahead of the arrogant yet widely popular Sacramento King Moses Chara.
The Eastern Conference All-Stars will be led by Cleveland’s LeBron James, who was top vote getter in the All-Star ballot. James and Iverson will be joined by Miami’s Dwyane Wade, Toronto’s Chris Bosh, and Orlando’s Dwight Howard.
The starters for the Western Conference All-Stars are Durant, San Antonio’s Tim Duncan, Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant, New Orleans’ Chris Paul, and last year’s All-Star Game MVP and Houston Rocket Yao Ming.
Iverson, acquired by New York last month, will be playing in his 11th All-Star Game. Duncan and Bryant will both be playing in their 13th.

Durant, Tyson Lead Comeback Win
Feb 6, 2011
27-25 Boston @ 22-26 Seattle: 109-112
SEATTLE (AP) – Boston really missed star player Kevin Garnett (separated shoulder) as Seattle continued their hot form with an impressive comeback win. “Without KG, we lose a lot on both ends of the floor,” Rajon Rondo said, “Especially on defense. That’s where we lost the game tonight.”
Despite getting a triple double from Rondo (18 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists), 22 points from Ray Allen, and 22 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists from Paul Pierce; Boston could not withstand a furious offensive barrage from the high scoring tandem of Kevin Durant and Seattle sixth man Reshawn Tyson.
Durant finished with 28 points, 8 rebounds, Tyson added 21 points in 23 minutes. David Lee also put up 10 points and 10 rebounds, Andrew Bogut had 10 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and Jason Kidd added 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists.
