Being a comic book colorist/sketcher/inker/cartoonist is one of my frustrations actually. When I was a kid I used to draw comic strips. Ah the good old days.

Actually. I think this is top notch quality. Try submitting some of your work to Glass House Graphics. It's a company here that acts like a talent agent for big comic book companies. They've been key to getting Pinoys and Brazilians in Marvel and DC.

I'm also interested in being a colorist since I haven't really been honing my freehand skills and I feel I can do coloring better but I haven't really tried it out like you have with that Batman piece. Add to the fact that I'm focusing on moving on to becoming a 3d artist rather than a colorist.

That's not a bad idea actually. I have the opposite problem, I'm pretty good at drawing but shit at colouring things. Drives me insane.

Edit: Not that you're shit at drawing but your focus seems more colour-based

Great stuff, man. Just one question though: Is there any way to make the stroke paths neater, as in less "brushy?" Maybe using Illustrator or something?

One solution is to sharpen it. (though I never really mentioned that in the tutorial, it's more of a "personal trick" )

Filter your lineart (supposed that your "blacks" shape aren't merged with it), with the Unsharp Mask filter. Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask. And set it to at least 50.

I haven't had time to read it yet, but I'm sure that it's great as always Lean.

I will check it out later, and of course, try it out too.

BTW i was wondering if you use Illustrator, since vectoring is easier there, IMO
