According to NY post, T-Mac is likely to miss first month of 2009-10 season. It's just frustrating. I am really skeptical that he will ever be the same T-mac who was so fun to watch. Let's face it, how many players came back from series of injuries to make an impact they used to make.

Knee and shoulder surgeries are expected to cause Tracy McGrady to miss the first month of the 2009-10 NBA season, according to the New York Post.

Holy crap! That's a shocker!

It certainly is. At one point the talk was that he might be out for close to the entire season, if indeed he did return at some point during 2009/2010. I guess those reports were overblown or the absolute worst case scenario for his recovery and rehab.

That's really the worst case scenario for T-Mac's case. He'll be really back come the '09-'10 season.

I didn't know that, but who knows how things will go with his rehab and recovery. When everybody thought he was healthy last year, he called it quits. At this stage, it's really doubtful whether he'll be ever healthy. Why not trade him, while he has some value left. As a Rocket fan, I'm starting to think the trade should happen sooner than later.

From the Rockets perspective, trading him only makes sense if they get some quality players or draft picks coming the other way (and the Knicks have already given up their first round pick in 2010) since as an expiring contract, he'll be coming off the books at the end of the 2010 season anyway. If they could get Lee or Chandler (or both, though that's probably unlikely given T-Mac's recent injuries and production) then I think they'd have to pull the trigger.
