What version of NBA Live 07 do you guys play?

Postby Daniel-SG on Sat Nov 25, 2006 11:18 am

I'm new here, and am wondering what the most popular version of NBA Live is. I'm playing the XBox version.

Are you on the PC, PS2, PS3, XBox, or XBox 360?

Around these parts the PC version seems to be most common and the Current Gen users seem to outnumber those who have moved on to the Xbox 360. I've traditionally preferred the PC version because of the ease of modding and the possibility of official fixes though I have picked up the PS2 version in years past for two players games with my cousin. With all the issues this year however, I'm sticking with the PC version only.

What makes the PC version so much better? Also, what type of controller do you use on the PC version?

Also, how good of a PC do you have to have in order for the game to play smoothly. I have been on XBox so long, I've never tried playing games on my PC.

I am open to it though.

As I said before, the PC version can be modded in a variety of ways since we have access to the game's files. Updating the rosters for the PC version is much better since you're not stuck with a small limit on created players (I'm not sure what the limit for consoles is this year, in the past it's been between 12-25) and you can modify hidden attributes allowing you to add complete bio data for players including nicknames and draft info. Graphics can also be updated though the process is not as straightforward as roster editing.

You're also able to save boxscores and screenshots with the PC version. The most noteable advantage this year would be the fact that a fix has been released for the PC version whereas console players unfortunately miss out.

I use a Logitech dual analog pad, I was using a Thrustmaster Firestorm for three or four years until the right stick messed up recently. There's other brands out there as well as devices that allow you to utilise PS2, Xbox and Xbox 360 controllers with the PC by allowing you to connect them via USB.

The requirements to run NBA Live 07 can be found here. Anything faster than that shouldn't have too many problems running the game smoothly.

I'm probably one of the few that plays the 360 version........ :)

Everyone else hates the game but I actually enjoy it alot. It takes tons of tweaks but if you figure out how the ratings and how they effect gameplay then tweak the sliders it can be very fun/good game.

I don't let others influence me so that plays a major role aswell. I prefer to test things out on my own then make a decision. I loved Live 06 on the PS2 but then I moved on to the 360 console and I actually like some of the early base foundation EA has implemented with the new engine. It's not perfect but I can see what they are trying to do and accomplish. I'm sure they could have just ported the game over and had a smoother transistion.

But I give them prop's for wanting to start over with something fresh from scratch. Sure there are growing pains but that's the price you pay when you decide to build from the ground up. I don't think many people care about what the game can evolve into by 2008 by laying the foundation in 06 and 07 because they want perfection right now. In return the game has taken a major hit by going through the rebuilding stage early in the 360 life cycle rather than later.

I'm having a good time with it though so that's all that matters to me. Ultimatley the decision will come down to which version you enjoy and the only person that can answer that question is your self because we aren't all going to enjoy the same things.

I play only the PC version too. Why? Well I'm not quite keen on consoles as the games I like often really suck on these platforms. I'm just accustomed to playing on the pc and the last console I played with or better I am play with regularly is the SNES ;)
