----------THE REBIRTH STARTS----------

Pat Riley was sitting in his office and was looking at their first opponent, Denver. The newly hired Head Coach didn't want to disappoint his boss in his debut. Geoff Petrie suddenly came into his office...

"Hey Pat, hows it going?"-He asked

"Not so good Petrie, this team looks good, but we don't have a go-to guy. I mean, Martin is good and all that, but we can't rely on an inconsistent player like him."-Riley said

"Whoa, you sure know how to suprise a guy Pat. Well you have to fix that problem, I want to hear some suggestions."-Petrie sat

"Well I haven't thought about this one much, but Williams has a lot of potential. And I can also move Martin to the 3 and Salmons to the 2."-Riley explained

"That sounds reasonable. Have you considered maybe signing a free agent?"-Petrie was trying to help

"Yea right, the best offensive player available is Smush Parker. Like he can help"-Riley grabbed his head

"Well you may sign him and then trade him. I am willing to trade someone if you guarantee me we can get a go-to guy."-Petrie shocked Riley

"Well I can try, just give a minute to find his number"-Riley started scrolling...

------------------------------------------------------

"Here is it, OK boss I'll call him now"-Riley picked up the phone

"Hello, Parker speaking"-Smush answered

"Hello Smush it's Pat Riley speaking, can I have a minute of your time?"-Riley asked nicely

"I'm not joining Miami again Mr. Riley, sorry"-Smush said

"I ain't with Miami no more Smush, I'm the Kings Head Coach now."-Riley was smiling

"Oh really, congratulations on that, Miami really sucks. So you want to negotiate a contract or what?"-Smush asked

"Yes, I was thinking of signing you on a 3 year Mid-Level exception deal, what do you think"-Riley asked

"Well, it sounds good. But I want at least 20 minutes a game"-Smush said

"That sounds OK, so do we have a deal"-Riley have put on a big smile

"OK, just send me the papers so I can sign them, nice working with you again Riley"-Smush hung up

"Petrie, this idiot think I'm gonna give him 20 minutes per game."-Riley was laughing his head off

"Damn that boy is stupid, OK so tell me the guys you want to put on the trading block."-Petrie asked

"Hmm, put Udrih, Parker and a 1st-teamer on the list, then send me the best offers if thats not a problem."-Riley said

"OK Pat, I see you later, good work"

As Riley was sitting back on his chair, he thought...

"Wow, its like I'm the boss here..."

--------------------GAME RECAP--------------------

The Kings Suffer loss in the opener

Image----------120
Image----------119

Sacramento, Ca-Well, this game wasn't close as it seems. In fact it wasn't even close. The Nuggets raped The Kings, especially Chauncey Billups. He scored 56 points, had 5 rebounds and assists to go with 4 steals...PG domination, where amazing happens. Nene also raped us, he had 20 points, 20 rebounds and 3 blocks. I think 15 of that rebounds are offensive ones. 'Melo had 15 points, which is decent. J.R Smith was good today, he had 18 points and 3 rebounds. Overall looking, they out-rebounded us by 12, and they won the game. They had a big lead at the end of the 3rd quarter, but they almost lost it. Chauncey was their go-to man in the 4th and was constantly knocking contested shots. Their win by 1 point was weird for me to see, because they were killing me all game long.

On the other hand, there were good things in this loss, like player statistics. Louis Williams had the best one. 20 points, 11 assists and 8 steals, that really shows his talent and the potential he has. Kevin Martin had a decent game too, 17 points and 4 rebounds. Salmons played good, 16 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds are decent statistics. But the player which suprised me the most is Jason Thompson. He was getting all the rebounds he could, scoring when needed and finding players for open shots. He finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Brad Miller had 24 points, but was constantly out-rebounded.

*note*-Sacramento managed to lose this one despite their 110 shot attempts-

---------------TRADE TALKS---------------

After the embarrassing loss to The Nuggets, Petrie started looking for that Go-to guy he and Riley talked about. He found a few players and started making calls

"Hello, Mike Woodson speaking"-Atlanta's Coach replied

"Hey there Mr. Woodson, Petrie speaking"-Petrie replied

"Petrie, as of The Kings Petrie?"-Woodson asked

"Yes its me, did I call in the wrong time or..."

"No no, not at all, how may I help you?"-Woodson asked

"Well, I was wondering if you want to do a trade"-Petrie asked

"Depends, what guy do you want?"-Woodson asked

"I was thinking about Joe Johnson"-Petrie replied

"Whoa, you will have to give a lot to get Joe Johnson!"-Woodson was suprised

"Well, I was thinking of this. You send Joe Johnson to us, and we give you Smush Parker and possibly...Kevin Martin?"-tried Petrie

"Hmm, I'm sorry, we just aren't ready to risk, you'll have to do better if you want Joe"-Woodson said

"Well, can you give me a suggestion, because I really don't know what do you guys want"-Petrie was confused

"Lets see, how about you give me Keven and Salmons to us?"-Woodson asked

"OK, I see where this is going, this is a no, and I think we just can't make a fair deal so goodbye"-Petrie hung up

"Damn, Woodson's a bitch. Who can I get, lets see, Butler, no, Wade, no they'll ask too much, Baron, no, Hmmm, lets try with Rudy"-Petrie said

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"OK, first lets get Riley in the room"-Petrie said as he asked his Secretary to send Riley into his office.

As Riley came, he took a seat and the two guys started talking...

"Rudy, huh? Well, he is good, and clutch, but I don't think the Grizzlies will give us Rudy for Salmons alone"-Riley started

"I don't care, lets try, and we will see what happens."-Petrie shouted

"Ok Ok, jezzz, just wait a second"-Said Riley as he called Iavaroni

Beep....Beep..."Hello, Marc Iavaroni speaking"-The Grizzlies Head Coach answered

"Hello Marc, Petrie speaking, can I have a minute of your time?"-Riley asked nicely

"Yes sure Pat, and by the way congratulations on your new job, The Heat are in deep shit now" -Iavaroni laughed

"Certainly Marc, listen, I called you in business reasons, we already made a deal when I was in Miami, so I'm sure we can get a fair deal for both sides" -Riley said

"OK, but first, we are not giving OJ Mayo, but tell me whats on your mind"-Iavaroni said

"I wasn't thinking about Mayo, Marc, I was thinking about Rudy"-Riley said

"oooohhhh....I see. Well, I'm sure we can make a fair deal, Eh?"-Iavaroni was already happy

"Good, listen, We will give you Salmons and Parker"-Riley said

"Parker, what Parker?"-Iavaroni asked

"Smush Parker"-Riley answered

"Oh, you signed him and you are already trading him, hahaha, well, that is a fair offer, but can I get something more?"-Iavaroni asked

"Well I can only give you Beno Udrih, he won't be playing here much anyways, but what use is he for you?"-Riley was confused

"Oh my friend, Memphis must make trades if they want to make the Play-offs. Beno will be a good backup PG for us, you know"-Iavaroni said

"Oh, I see...just don't try something with Mike Woodson, the guy is a lunatic"-Riley said

"Haha, thank you. So do we have a deal?"-Iavaroni asked

Yes we do...

Well, I understood everything right, and I think you, Sacramento-kings, are Mandich and try to get away from the bad reputution that you've gotten by leaving tons of dynasties behind.

I might be wrong.

Re: Sacramento Kings-The Rebirth starts[Trade Talks]

Fri Dec 26, 2008 3:08 am

is it a 3-1 trade? thats too much for a joe johnson i think.. and besides, u wont hav a backup for louis williams, coz bobby jackson is not a true PG.. the most fair trade imo is a k-mart - j.j. trade (Y)

Correction: Jason Thompson is not a guard, he plays SF/PF

Re: Sacramento Kings-The Rebirth starts[Trade Talks]

Fri Dec 26, 2008 3:43 am

XplosivE22, Firstly thanks for the feedback. I noticed you haven't read the whole story. Its Rudy Gay wwe got, not Joe Johnson. Bobby Jackson can play solid a PG, and also I want to give Louis as much playing time as possible.

Secondly, the trade was actually John Salmons and Smush Parker for Rudy Gay, and Memphis has some Cap room space available, so I sent Beno Udrih who isn't needed.

Thirdly, Thompson plays SF/PF, but he can also play SG if needed, he is a slower Boris Diaw type of player.

---------------ITS OFFICIAL---------------

Sacramento, CA-Today Sacramento and Memphis agreed on a 4-player trade. Memphis will send Rudy Gay to The Kings, while Smush Parker, Beno Udrih and John Salmons will go the other way. Gay, 22, is one of the NBA best potentials, and has the talent to be as good as Vince Carter in his prime. He has got amazing athletic ability, and also a nice shooting touch.
Sacramento, on the first look gave up too many for Rudy. But it was actually a good move. We lost Salmons, the teams most consistent player, but got Rudy Gay in return, so no harm done. We have lost Smush Parker, but he was just signed to be traded. And we have decided to give up Beno Udrih too so we can have cap space for free agent signing.
We now have 6.23 million to spend on free agents.

John Salmons and Rudy Gay will switch teams shortly

Sat Dec 27, 2008 2:49 am

hehe sorry i just read the 1st part.. u mean thompson is a slower diaw? dude, diaw is sooo slow.. i dont know how much rating u gave for thompson but u cant list a big man as G/F, that's unreal, he's a F/C

Re: Sacramento Kings-The Rebirth starts[Trade Official]

Sat Dec 27, 2008 3:25 am

XplosivE22, yes Diaw is slow but he can play SG if he wants to, Thompson has 71 overall rating, and I know that he is a F/C, but in my dynasty I put him on guard so he can stop that guard domination. I don't put him on PG, but on SG, sometimes, usually he plays SF with the 2nd unit.

But ok I'll list him as a F/C

Re: Sacramento Kings-The Rebirth starts[Trade Official]

Sat Dec 27, 2008 12:17 pm

Sacramento-kings, yeah,thompson can play SG

Re: Sacramento Kings-The Rebirth starts[Trade Official]

Sat Dec 27, 2008 10:00 pm

even dirk and kg can play SG, but they are listed as Forward, yeah maybe thompson can run the floor, but w/o the ball, he's a finisher.. i dont mean anything bad, im just helping to improve on the little things.. BTW the trade looks great for ur team, both players work hard everynight and u still maintained a well-balanced team (Y)

---------------GAME RECAP---------------

Image---------108
Image----------109

Sacramento, CA-Whoa man, this was a good game. It was close to the end. The Kings new acquisition, Rudy Gay, had a pretty good game in overall, scoring 18 points and having 5 rebounds. Brad Miller had a double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling down a team-high 11 rebounds. He also had 4 blocks and 3 steals. Nice game from the big man. But the player who literally won this game, Jason Thompson, can take all the credits. He scored a Team-high 26 points, had 9 rebounds, 3 steals and a block. He also made the game winner, the picture is shown down under.
If we look it from the Rockets perspective, the game was disappointing. The "Title Contenders" lost to a mediocre team. McGrady and Yao are the only players from The Rockets team that can leave with their heads high. McGrady scored 36 points and Yao had 16 points to go along with 16 boards. But they do have a reason to be happy. Steve Francis is back. He had a double-double. 17 points and 11 assists. Lets hope The Franchise can continue this.
