I am making a new dynasty, because I simply could not get into the Timberwolves. This will not be a completely new dynasty however. As lame as it is, I will be copying over and editing some of the story. Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope you follow this one!

PROLOGUEJune 24, 2008 - At Liam Washburn's Seattle Apartment
Liam Washburn was spinning in his computer chair, aimlessly surfing the internet when he received a phone call.
"Hello. Liam Washburn speaking."
"Hey, Liam. Its Larry. Billy has uh... resigned, and I was wondering if you were interested at all in being promoted to his position."
-INTERACTIVE: Pick Liam's response!-
A) "Are you serious? I'm not being served? Yeah! Of course!" (Click)
B) Wow. I am stunned. This is a huge shock. May I have a couple days to consider my options before I sign the contract?" (Read on)
"Yes, of course. Don't dilly-dally though," replied Johnston
"Don't worry, I won't. I'll get back to you later this week."
"Very good. I hope that you choose to accept my offer Mr. Washburn. You won't regret it," said the Hawks owner, hanging up.
"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!," Liam exclaimed, much at the dismay at his neighbors.
But before he could fully celebrate, he received another call. "Hello, Liam Washburn speaking."
"Oh good. This is Kevin Pritchard, general manager of the Blazers. Tom Penn, our Assistant GM, has suffered a heart attack and is now in critical condition. After hearing about you being the spearhead of the Horford drafting and generally holding a Dick Cheney-type role in the Hawks little playoff run, I thought you would be a perfect replacement. What do you say?"
"Wow. Uh, well, I have received other offers as well, so I would like to weigh all of my options," replied Washburn, trying not to show too much joy.
"Of course. Perhaps you could fly down here for a tour and interview, so you can get an idea of what the Trailblazers organization is about."
"That sounds great."
"Excellent. We will set up a flight for Monday. See you then."
"Uh, yeah. Of course. Thank you Mr. Pritchard!"
"Don't mention it," replied the Blazer GM, hanging up.
'Damn. GM of the Hawks or Assistant GM or my favorite team. Decisions decisions,' Washburn thought, before deciding to make the final update of his Live dynasty.
--------------------
Washburn woke up to a half-complete NBA Finals recap, a sore neck and his roommate Silas standing behind him, clad in a KKK robe.
"You still go on the NLSC?"
"Fuck you, man. Hey... WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU WEARING?"
"Huh? I just got this from the Kyle Korver Klan. They understand his supremacy."
"..."
"Hey, so did you get any offers?," Silas asked, changing the subject.
"Yeah, two. One of them is a promotion to the GM position with the Hawks. The other assistant GM of the Blazers.
"You are taking the promotion right?"
"I dunno. Actually I'm leaning more towards Portland to be honest. Atlanta is a shithole, the Hawks are shit and Portland is my favorite team."
"Whatever. I think it would be a terrible move. I don't see KP leaving any time soon, but its your future... Anyways, I better get going. I have a Klan meeting in 15 minutes. Say hi to Donatello for me."
"I will. Uh... it might not be the best idea to wear that robe in public. It could uh... get dirty."
"No time. I'll be careful. Later Lamrock", Silas shouted as he departed the apartment.
Liam then logged on to his email and saw messages from three different teams: the Pacers, Wizards and Grizzlies.
"Fuck."
Tue Dec 23, 2008 10:09 am
lol..almost exactly the same, with one sentence difference at the end
Pacers: Danny Granger dynasty...would be interesting
Wizards: if you start the season with Gilbert injured until January like in real life, it'll be a great dynasty to read about, see how they can stay afloat and bounce back once Agent Zero is back
Grizzlies: Gay and Mayo
either way, good luck with this one

CHAPTER 1: Decisions, Decisions...Liam was looking forward to his trip to Portland. However, he had some tasks to do before he left. The first order of business for the wonder kind was to pack. 'Hipster glasses, check. Zune, check. Brandon Roy jersey, check. All set.' He then replied to the Grizzlies and Pacers emails, declining the offers. He then grabbed his suitcases and left the apartment.
Just as Liam was leaving, he heard whimpering from a nearby garbage can. He looked inside it cautiously and found his roommate.
"Silas?"
"Liam! Thank Kyle your here! They attacked me. They fucking attacked me! I was just walking down the street, then these guys, like a dozen of them - they must have been Kapono fans - just MUGGED ME! Shit... hey, where you off to?", asked a distressed Silas
"Portland, remember?", Liam replied.
"Oh yeah. Hey, can you give me a ride to the hospital?"
"Shit. I'm on a tight schedule."
"Come on, please?!", pleaded Silas.
"Fine. Hurry, get in," Liam said helping him out of the dumpster.
--------------------
"Hey, thanks for the ride. Your not coming in?" Liam kicked Silas out of the car and sped off.
Liam raced towards the airport. 'I'm going to make it!', he thought glancing at the clock.
"SIR, PLEASE PULL OVER" he suddenly heard.
"Fucking shitty shit fuck!," shouted Liam, as he pulled the car over.
"Mm hmm. You are aware that you were going 80 in a 55 zone?" an obese mustachioed male cop spat.
"Yes. And I have learned my lesson. Please give me my ticket please," Liam snapped.
"EXCUSE ME?! I think we might need to take you in."
"No, please. I'm a member of the Trail Blazers organization. Its very important."
"I don't give a fuck what your a member of. Your coming with me."
Panicking, Liam noticed the Sonics sticker on the cop's clipboard. "Please... I'll do anything. I'll uh, sock Clay Bennett if I see him. Just please let me go", Liam pleaded.
The cop thought for a second, then smirked. "Alright, I'll take your word for it. Next time though...," the cop threatened cracking his knuckles and handing out the hefty $220 ticket.
--------------------
"Please... you gotta let me on," Liam begged the flight attendant.
"I'm sorry sir, but its too late. You'll need to schedule a later flight."
"Please... I'll punch Clay Bennett?," Liam offered hopefully, but to no avail.
"Fuck," he said, as he got on I-5 to get to Portland the hard way.
--------------------
Liam was amazed when he got to Portland. Everything was so orderly. He felt out of place with his jeans and band T-Shirt. Unlike Atlanta, where everyday was casual Friday, everyone here was dressed for success. There was no litter on the ground, and he was pleased when Kevin Pritchard wasn't in his boxers when he met him. (unlike his first meeting with Billy Knight)
"So, Mr. Washburn. Your resume is very impressive. I didn't know you were a player at UW! However, your 4 days early for casual Friday", Pritchard joked. "But in all seriousness, how are you finding the facilities?," Pritchard asked.
"Very impressive. And absolutely nothing like Atlanta. But I think I would be able to manage."
"Ha ha. Yes you will. Anyway, I'm going to let Jing here give you a tour", he said referring to the young Asian man next to him. "Give us a call in a few days, will you?"
"Thank you, sir. I will, Liam nodded as he left the room with Jing.
Liam got to meet all of the Blazers, take a few shots on the practice court and get his Brandon Roy jersey autographed. 'Yeah, this is the place for me', he thought, smiling.
Following the meeting, Liam declined the Wizards' offer to take over as GM. He had kept the Wizards' option open in case the Blazers meeting did not go well. Liam would come to regret this decision.

CHAPTER 2: DUI's & Heartbreak
'He knew. He knew about the testing. How could I have been so stupid? Fuuuuuck'. Liam thought to himself as he laid on his bed. He looked at the calendar: December 18. He had intended to go job hunting that day, but the recent snowstorm had derailed his plans.
Needing to get out of the house, he went out for a cup of coffee. Checking his balance, he saw he had $3,256 in his savings account. He would need to get a job soon, but where? The economy was in the shitter, and he was damaged goods: no NBA team would take him now. When he returned home, he fell on his bed and sobbed. "WHY ME??", he moaned.
And then he received a phone call.
--------------------
-THREE MONTHS EARLIER-
Liam was ecstatic. He just got a job with the Portland Trailblazers! It wasn't yet official of course, but it was essentially a done-deal. Mid-thought, he received a call from Blazers owner Paul Allen. 'This is it!'
"Hello, this is Paul Allen. I am calling about the Assistant general manager job. This is Liam Washburn, correct?"
"Yes!", Liam said, beaming and trying to hide the excitement in his voice.
Allen sighed, and said "Regrettably, our franchise's reputation has been marred in previous years with our players getting in trouble with the law. Due to the DUI on your record, we have decided to go in a different di-"
"WHAT?", Washburn interrupted. "Are you joking? A DUI I got eight years ago is stopping me from getting this position? You must be joking."
"Afraid not,", Allen said sternly. "Here in Portland, we are trying to build a clean, positive image for the team. We want the term 'Jail Blazers' to be abolished! I am sorry Liam," he said, hanging up.
"FUUUUUUUUCK!"
--------------------
Liam tried to get in contact with the teams he declined, but watched as all of the positions were filled. When it was announced that former Hawks GM and one-time murder suspect William Sit would take the Blazers Assistant GM spot, he went into a three-day drunken stupor.
"It will be all right man,", his room mate Silas told him. "Look at Kyle Korver! Drafted 51st overall in 2003... people didn't think he would even make the team, and now look at him: best player in the NBA."
"Thanks,", Liam said, rolling his eyes.
Months passed in a haze, as Liam wasted away at home in a deep depression, pissing away his savings and playing 2K9 with Silas.
Then, on December 18th, an early Christmas miracle happened.
"Hello, this is Steve Kerr, Phoenix Suns general manager. Is this Liam Washburn?"
"Why, yes it is", Liam said, perking up.
"Our Assistant GM has resigned, and I have decided to offer you his position. Are you interested?"
"Wow, seriously?! Of course!", Liam exclaimed, beaming.
"Excellent, we'll fly you in tomorrow."
"Of course! Thank you!"
--------------------
Liam knew that if he got the job, he would be an NBA general manager in no time. Steve Kerr has all but destroyed the Phoenix Suns, and with one more fuck up, he would be in.

Shit. Spent so much time playing Resident Evil and dreading the end of my break that I haven't updated this in a week. When my schedule gets back to normal with school, I'll try to update this more often, but promises like this from me are to be taken with a grain of salt.
Basically: Be back soon! (I hope)

Steve Kerr To Resign As GM, Play For SunsJanuary 26, 2009 | Sports | Basketball | NBA | SunsPhoenix, AZ -
Steve Kerr and the Suns have reportedly made an agreement in which current GM
Steve Kerr will resign from duties as the team's general manager to resume his playing career. Kerr, 43, retired in 2003 and has since been active as an analyst and general manager. Kerr started his playing career as a Phoenix Sun.
"Honestly, I'm in the best shape of my life. I can still keep up with the NBA pace and hit threes better than anyone," remarked Kerr in an interview with an Arizona newspaper. It is rumored that a minimum contract is in the works for him. Taking over for him as general manager will be Liam Washburn, former Hawks, and current Suns Assistant GM.
As a General Manager, Steve Kerr has been subject to much criticism, especially for the trading of
Kurt Thomas and draft picks for next to nothing, as well as the controversial Marion-for-Shaq trade. The Phoenix Suns failed to make it to the conference semifinals for the first time since 2004, losing to the San Antonio Spurs in 5 games. Thomas being on the Spurs as opposed to the Suns was widely spoken as the difference maker in the first two games of that series, in which the Suns lost large leads. The Suns are currently 24-18 and holding off the Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks for the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
This is expected to be officially announced at a press conference scheduled for Wednesday, January 28.
