IFF EDITOR

I was wondering... Why all this mistery about this damn iff editor?? So the chinese broke the code, the fckng awesome! But why not to share it? Because it's not a freeware or something? Ok then, so let us know where to buy it, what app to use. I Just can not understand why all this mistery about it. Isn't that the purpouse of this forum? Share infomation and knowledge about patchs and stuff? I think that all we all users want is to have the chance to make our own patches and share it here too.

So let us to know your opinion about this. If YOU were the one who broke this code or whatever and had the iff editor, will you share it or share the information about where to find or buy it??

I know how you feel man. I don't get why they won't share it and the ones who wish to share it are trying to charge for it. No one here at the NLSC has ever charged anything for a patch or patch making tools. I wouldn't worry about it too much though as this issue should be resolved very soon.

I'm a newbie about programming so what i've to say has already probably been said. I searched information about IFF and i found that in "the sims 1" there are files with this extension and that exist a program called IFF PENCIL 2 (windows) to list what there's in those files. After lots of research i've found that program and i've tried to open an .iff file of Nba2k9. But when I tried it said "This is not an .iff file". I don't know if it cause they've crypted those file using an IFF extension but when in real IFF is another extension. But I only wanted to try, and I (newbily ^^) failed
I've got the same result with gffx alchemy, i received an error that means "wrong file format"...

i maybe found something...(i am not responsible for any use beacuse i found it and have no idea of how to use)
the name is "Iff Pro 0.05" IFF PRO is a freeware image conversion tool for windows. It's purpose is to convert various (previously unsupported) special Amiga Mode IFF images to Windows BITMAPS.

this iff format is nothing like the maya or the image formats that you will find online. it it very similar to our fsh and viv formats for NBA Live. programs for it need to be custom made, there is nothing existing that works or else we would have found it already.

Makes nba2k9, patches when it respects these people who opening to the public it distributes? In order to enjoy a better game patch when it stands it owns jointly together

Everybody here respects these people who finaly opened this code and found a way to patch nba2k9 "in order to enjoy a better game"... We just don't understand why to keep this "secret" under seven keys. What is the point of that? Let's share info and patches so we'll have a better game, an updated game, in a shorter time instead of stand still waiting for this guys, who surely we do respect for their discoveries, but also who must be very busy people to spend their times on making patches for nba2k9, once they are (for now) the only persons who can do the iff files.

So after all this, the real point is: LET US HELP YOU TO MAKE PATCHES FOR NBA 2K9! SHARE THE INFO FOR THE IFF FILES!

i believe the reason behind the " not sharing of the iff program" its because the program itself is in chinese and if they will release it in public many of us will have a hard time in dealing with the program..(and even if we can translate them using some translating sites still its very hard to understand)

btw i only have the roster editor that theyve made..

I am disappointed that the .iff program is not being released. But I guess that is just the way it is and until someone who speaks English decides to take a turn at trying to crack the file format then we just sit here and wait....

It would be nice if 2k would just released this tool themselves. With ex-members of the 2k production team working for EA there can't be no fear of the opposing company gaining an advantage can there?

Anyway I am frustrated by this all. I was hoping to have all my own mods started by now. But here I wait.
