PROLOGUE

After Head coach Reggie Theus being fired earlier this week, the Kings are in a search for a new one. Geoff Petrie, the clubs GM is in charge of doing just that. Geoffrey Michael Petrie (born April 17, 1948, in Darby, Pennsylvania) is the Sacramento Kings' President of Basketball Operations and a former NBA player for the Portland Trail Blazers.

At 6'4" he could play either guard or forward positions and was a deadly long range shooter in an era devoid of the three-point line. He played in two All-Star games and in 1971, the Blazers' first year in existence, was named co-Rookie of the Year with the Boston Celtics' Dave Cowens after averaging 24.8 points per game. Until Damon Stoudamire's 54 point performance in 2005, Petrie held the Blazers' individual scoring record for one game at 51 — a feat he accomplished twice. His jersey number, 45, was retired by the Blazers.

As an executive he has won the NBA Executive of the Year Award twice with the Sacramento Kings. He attended Springfield High School, in Springfield, Pennsylvania, and played collegiate ball at Princeton University. Enough about him, lets get on to the Head Coach hiring.
It was early morning, and 3 candidates were sitting in the lobby waiting for their names to be called. The candidates were Kenny Nat, Julius Erving and Pat RIley. The job will probably go to Mr. Riley, but in basketball everything is possible, lets see the candidates interviews. As the three candidates were chatting, Petrie called Kenny Natt in.
"Hello Mr. Petrie, how are things going"-Natt was trying to be as neat as possible. -"Good, thank you, please take a seat"-Petrie replied. -"So Kenny, do you think you deserve this job"-Petrie started. -"Honestly, I think I do. If you read my resume, you already know everything"-Natt replied. -"Yes I did, it is quite impressive, but what will you secure us if we hire you, play-offs or a lottery pick"-Petrie asked. -"I'll be honest with you. I'd go with the Lottery pick. We can get somebody really talented and then make the play-offs next year"-Natt said. -"OK, thank you, please wait in the lobby until we finish the interviews"-Petrie wasn't happy with Nat.
Next there was Julius Erving. As he entered Petrie asked for a autograph for his kid. After Erving signed it they started talking. "So Mr. Erving, I talked with Kenny Natt earlier and he promised us play-offs next season, can you promise us something more, I certainly hope you can"-Petrie was curious. -Well, I can promise you play-offs, but like Natt only next season. I think this team has a lot of potential but aren't good enough for play-offs"-Erving replied. -"Yes, we don't have a franchise player, what would you do in that case"-Petrie continued. -"I'd probably pull of a blockbuster so we can get a quality player"-Erving was nervous. -"Yes and would you spend some time to practice with the guys"-Petrie was asking question after question. -"Yes I would, but I think that is why the assistants are here". -"OK, thank you for your time, please wait in the lobby"-Petrie was thinking he would get something more out of DR. J.
As Pat Riley entered the room and sat, Petrie immediately asked him a question.
"Why should we hire you". Riley didn't said anything but just raised his hand and showed his rings. -"Is that enough"- he asked while smiling. -"Will we make the play-offs this year if we hire you"-Petrie just found his Head Coach. -"Yes we will, when do I start..."

SACRAMENTO INTRODUCES NEW HEAD COACH

Image
Pat Riley is the King's new Head Coach. With a big name like him, Sacramento has a big chance of making the play-offs. But will they make them, thats another thing. In this press conference Petrie will introduce Pat Riley.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q=Reporter
A=Pat Riley

Q=Firstly we would all liked to congratulate you on becoming the new Kings HC

A=Thank you, it's really exciting being the HC here"

Q="So Mr. Riley, what are your impressions about The Kings thus far?

A=Well, I must say things are more organized around here than I though. The coaching staff is terrific, just like the players and I think this will be a good run.

Q=Do you think The Kings need some changes to make the Play-offs this season?

A=Yes I think we do. The team has a lot of talent, but it takes time for the talent to develop. Plus I think that Ron Artest trade this summer was the worst thing The Kings could do. They guy was a great defensive player, and we don't have that type of a player in the team right now. Some changes must be made.

Q=So are you going to bring in a defensive force to The Kings?

A=Not at first, I'll just take a look if there are any hidden talents in the team.

Q=What can we expect this season, an All-Star, a Slam Dunk Contest participant or something else?

A=I think an All-Start place for a King should be assured...Thats all I am telling for now.

A=OK than, thank you for your time Mr. Riley

Q=No Problem

KINGS MAKE A 3-TEAM TRADE

Sacramento, CA-Today the Head Coaches of Philadelphia, Sacramento and New Orleans have announced a 3 team trade between them. Philadelphia will send Louis Williams to Sacramento and Kareem Rush to New Orleans. Sacramento will send Donta Green to New Orleans and Kenny Thomas to Philadelphia. New Orleans will send Morris Peterson to Philadeplphia and Rasual Butler to Sacramento. Lets take a overall look at the trade.

Image

They Get:Morris Peterson and Kenny Thomas. Key player at this gain: Kenny Thomas
Image
Kenny has a lot of experience and will come from the bench for Elton Brand who is injury prone. Morris Peterson will play around 15 minutes a game. There is Andre Iguodala, young talent in Thadeus Young so he will be at the bench.

They Lose: Kareem Rush and Louis Williams. Key player at this loss: Louis Williams
Image
Louis was their 6th man and was doing really well. He has a bright future ahead of him in Sacramento. Rush didn't play much and will leave Philadelphia without leaving any impact.

Trade Grade: C+

Image

They get: Louis Williams and Rasual Butler. Key player gained: Louis Williams
Image
He has great potential, Sacramento clearly got the steal in this trade. He will play starting 1 guard. Rasual Butler won't have much of an impact on the team. He will be in charge to improve the teams overall defense when he is on the floor.

They Lose: Kenny Thomas and Donta Greene. Key player Loss: Donta Greene
Image
He is a player with good potential, still they didn't lose anybody special. Kenny Thomas wouldn't play much anyways.

Trade Grade: A-

Image

They get: Kareem Rush and Donta Greene. Key player gained: Donta Greene
Image
He has good potential and the New Orleans coaching staff can really make him a good player. Kareem Rush will be a solid bench player.

They Lose: Morris Peterson and Rasual Butler. Key player loss: Morris Peterson
Image
He was still a decent player, but his career was going downwards and this was a good move. Rasual Butler was a bench player.

Trade Grade: C

NBA career

Drexler (AKA The Glide) was selected in the 1st round, 14th overall pick in the 1983 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. He was passed over in the 1983 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets, who drafted Ralph Sampson and Rodney McCray, before Drexler was selected. Along with teammates Terry Porter, Jerome Kersey, Buck Williams, Kevin Duckworth, and Clifford Robinson, Drexler helped lead the team to the NBA Finals in 1990 (against the Detroit Pistons) and 1992 (versus the Chicago Bulls).

In 1992 he was selected to the U.S. Olympics basketball team, nicknamed "The Dream Team", which won the gold medal in Barcelona. In the 1991-92 season he finished second to Michael Jordan in MVP voting. He would meet Jordan's Chicago Bulls in the NBA Finals that same season only to fall short, as Jordan and the Bulls went on to win their second consecutive championship. In the six-game series against Chicago, Drexler averaged 24.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.

On February 14, 1995, with the Blazers out of serious contention for a championship, Portland honored Drexler's request to be traded to a contender and sent the Blazer great to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Otis Thorpe in mid-season, right before the trade deadline. Despite finishing the regular season with a record of 47-35, which placed the Rockets 6th out of 8 playoff teams in the Western Conference, Drexler and long-time friend Hakeem Olajuwon helped propel them to an improbable second consecutive championship in 1995, sweeping the Orlando Magic. In his second NBA Finals appearance, Drexler averaged 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.8 assist per game.

During the 1995 NBA Playoffs, Drexler was the subject of a controversial ejection during a game between the Rockets and Phoenix Suns by referee Jake O'Donnell, which allegedly stemmed from a personal feud between the two at the time.. This would turn out to be the last NBA game O'Donnell would referee, as he was not assigned any further games in the playoffs that year, and eventually retired a few months later. In 1996, on ESPN's "NBA Today", O'Donnell commented, "I wouldn't give Clyde Drexler much leeway because of the way he reacted with me all the time. I thought at times he would give cheap shots to people, and I just would not allow it."

The reason I've did this article is next: I love writing about famous players so I will have 4 sections in this dynasty. NBA old starts, I will write it rarely, but will do, then NBA superstars, this will be based on good performances in Dynasty mode. Then I'll have Dossier: random. For example... Dossier: Sacramento Kings. I will also have the behind the scenes Like Chaser and Sit. Keep following guys

Sacramento wins in season opener

Sacramento-CA-Today was a cracker. Sacramento won in the opener and Riley is proven to be a good decision. Louis Williams didn't fail to impress as well. He had 18 points and 6 assists. He and Kevin Martin lead The Kings offense. Martin was the POG scoring 22 to go with 5 rebounds. He also made 4 three-pointers. Overall looking the game was decent and interesting. I just need to play more minutes, like 7 or 8 per quarter. Brad Miller was a pleasant suprise in this one, he had 16 points but only 2 rebounds. He was constantly out-rebounded by Nene and Kenyon Martin. On the other hand, he had 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks as well. Salmons and Thompson disappointed tonight. Thompson had only 3 points, and just like Salmons, he played shitty offense. They had decent defensive nights though.

Lets take a look from the Nuggets point of view. Nene is a good substitution for Camby I think. He had 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks, not bad. But I don't understand the CPU, they didn't put Anthony on the court, I was happy for that, but also knew I'll receive a lot of criticism on an unrealistic dynasty. So, sorry. Kleiza was a beast, dang. He had 18. And on the end, CPU point guard dominance continues. Just take a look on Denver's Box-score and take a look on Chauncey Billups...Where Amazing Happens...

Kings win in 2nd straight

Sacramento, CA-Another game in which Sacramento dominated. We are now on a 2-0 record, which is suprising I must say. although The Nuggets aren't one of the best teams, they aren't one of the worst either. Why did they play like crap in this 2 games then? Find more later on...

It is said that the reason of The Nuggets playing this bad is a little fight between Melo and Chauncey. As I can see on team Chemistry page, they are in a serious argue. Pat Riley could tell something was wrong on the court...it was just too easy...Oh well, enough about that, lets take a look on the game recap.

Overall looking, the game wasn't quite a blow-out. Nuggets were good in the first half, leading from the beginning. It was the second half that killed them. They were out-rebounded, out-scored, out-everything you want to say. But, J.R. Smith still managed to put on a show. He had an amazing performance with 43 points!!! Billups, on the other hand had a sillent night with only 13 points with only 5/18 shooting. He had 11 dimes. Sacramento had 4 players over 20 points. They had 2, almost 3 double-doubles and almost a triple-double. Salmons, the POG had 23 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds. That is the closest you can get from getting a triple-double. Miller had a team-high 26 points to go with 7 rebounds. He knocked some cluth jumpers. Thompson is really a freak of nature. He got 12 rebounds and constantly dunked in this game. Really, hands down. Martin continued his good performances in The Kings Jersey scoring 22 points. The only starting 5 player who wasn't over 20 was Louis Williams. He wasn't even in double digits, and yet, he had 12 assists. I don't know if I'll be on this forum in a few days now, considering its Christmas and all, so...Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
