Is this legal? In Austria it would be illegal. You cannot crack a company's graphic libs, create an editor and sell it. You need permission AND in Austria you would definitely need a license.

I'm not convinced. I need to see an original file uncompressed, not some image you can extract with texmod. I don't think it's legal, either. All of the tools for Live were released for free. I wouldn't buy it anyways. There has been no screenshots of the gui or how the program works at all.

If he profits based ont the licensed work of others without their permission, it's illegal.

my tool can export everything from iff,but only distinguish the dds & bmp file now,because i only finished the key uncompress code,and dds bmp .
other files will save as bin.
maybe these are wav,maya,3dmax, try to recombine them,u will find something interesting:)
import also support dds & bmp now.
u can perfect it base on my source code

but as pdub and others stated before, It is illegal to sell any tool that modifies game files unless you are that company.

You can release and ask for donations for your work (which Ill assume youll get since youll be the first publicly released iff editor) but you cant sell it.

Screens of the editor would be great to see.
