Im mostly playing 2k8 on my 360, since Im in almost in the playoffs with the Cavs, so I dont have any intentions on buying 2k9 (btw, James just got a Torn ACL, out for goddamn 41weeks!

)
And, today, I received my copy of Fallout 3 (Limited Edition). All I can say is, Au Revouir, my social life, see you in a month. Its unbealivable.

I hear that, I just can't stop playing it, this is the most addictive game I've ever played, especially with all the cool mods that keep coming out.... Some peeps were saying it was way too short and blah-blah-blah, but just like Oblivion, you can spend maybe 200 or 300 hours on it if you really try to discover every place, loot everything, talk to everyone,... and not just do the main quest.

I sent my my computer to repairing so all my games are gone and I can't find them in the mess.So i've started playing Half-Life again. It'll never get boring i think.I also play FI 99-02 and NBA 2K9.

I was wondering what elements from the Fallout series were carried over to Fallout 3.

I haven't played the first two and obviously a lot of the old timers are not fully happy with F3, but it seems like it retained the names of most weapons, perks, meds, and such, and that the overall post-apocalyptic ambiance is fairly faithful to the originals. However, when it comes to gameplay, level of maturity/violence and actual RPG elements (leveling, perks,...), that's where the game falls short with the peeps who did play F1 and F2.
But it's fair to assume that 99% of people who liked Oblivion will like F3 as well.

Lately I have been re-playing GTA San Andreas. I breezed through with cheats the first time I beat the game , but now about a year later I've returned to try to beat the game without codes at all. There are still parts of the game that can't be done with my keyboard setup (i.e. driving and flying school) , and I had to have others finish those parts for me. Regardless of these minor inconveniences , it's still a fun experience , plus I discovered things I missed out on last time like the street races in each city.

I got two games installed right now, though I'm still at the beginning on both games:
Fallout 3
Graphically good-looking to me. I'm still adjusting to its new gameplay style though. They've kept the turn-based style with the VATS targeting system. Everything is still Fallout-ish to me (including the main plot), except that there are lesser people outside the Wasteland compared to the previous games.
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer

Graphically still amazing to me, and this is the type of RPG game that I miss. But it is one darn buggy game.

Read somewhere that you have to "cheat" the dialog and cutscenes once you're stuck.

I finally snapped out of my Fallout 3-induced trance, after finishing it to my surprise, and went back to playing Far Cry 2 again, since I have not finished that one yet. A few shortcomings, but one hell of a shooter overall.
Looking forward to GTA IV and Dead Space in a couple of weeks I think...

Cool, in what character level have you finished the game, badman?
How good is Mass Effect? Anyone of you guys played it?
Tue Dec 16, 2008 6:12 am
I installed a mod to change from the default cap of 20 to 30, so I ended at 30. I didn't even know it was gonna be the end, so I actually left out quite a few side quests and did not visist many locations...even though I spent about 80 hours on it!
Mass Effect is fantastic too. It's certainly nowhere as addictive as Fallout 3, but its main advantage is its incredible character-driven storytelling. Most of the voices, dialogs and cutscenes are great (plus, there's some potential alien sexxx going on

), which is not so much the case for F3, but it's also much more repetitive and the combat is not always satisfying in 3rd person view.

I see, heard of the alien sexx too. I'm after good RPG's that's why I thought of this one. Although Fallout 3 and NWN2 may already fill the gaming void.

I was playing a bit of Fallout 3 at my cousin's place the other day, another one I'm considering picking up in the post-Christmas sales.

I played Fallout 3 over at my friends place, great game I must say. Other than that, I'm playing NBA Live 07 and Football manager. When my friends come over we play Shrek Super party. The game rocks!

Police log wrote:During tow, perp entered into a screaming match with the driver claiming presence of an infant in the vehicle. Upon further inspection after the tow, her baby was indeed in the back seat. We've since moved the child into the lost and found and are holding it until Ms. Wilkins pays impound fines and retrieves her automobile.
Loving Fallout 3 right now.

Yeah, I'm still keen to pick it up. I'm just waiting on a couple of Christmas presents from friends and family who I've still got to catch up with in case it's among them or I get a gift certificate I can use to get it without dipping into the savings too much.

Loving Fallout 3 right now.
I'm on my second playthrough right now. I finished it pretty much by accident the first time, without finishing all the side quests and visiting all the locations, so I'm taking my time being a "bad karma" chick this time...This has become my favorite game ever, it's just mindblowing.

I think that's a great concept too, it's one of the reasons I'm keen to pick it up.

There's an alien blaster somewhere near one Vault (I think), there's some crashed UFO near the site, and you can get the blaster from an alien corpse. Cool, 88 damage. I was just disappointed to get the gatling laser late in the game.

The gatling is THE shit.
You can actually get it earlier if you decide to fuck up the Outcast, one of the guys has a gatling on him. Mine has a damage rating of 120 right now
