Hell yeah!!! Brandon Roy FTW!!!
http://www.nba.com/games/20081218/PHXPOR/boxscore.htmlThat's a new career high for Roy, and the second most points scored by an individual in Trailblazers's history. Damon Stoudamire owns the top record with 54 points.

Damon Stoudamire used to be a great scorer, damn. Good job by Brandon, I never saw him with the ability to take over a game like that but he sure showed the league what he can do.

It resulted in my prediction being shot down and left me 1/2 on the day, but I can't help but admire the effort all the same. I was following along with the scores on Yahoo every now and then, when he had 38 in the third quarter I had a feeling he'd be pushing the 50 point mark by the end of the night.

Hard to believe his career best until 5 games ago was 33 in 2OT last year. then it was 38 in 2OT again vs Clips this year. and now 52 in regular time.
Wow. I just hope he stays a humble person without arrogance.

And not to mention the fact that Kobe Bryant had 41 in loss to Orlando, and Wade had 43 in win over the Nets as well. A pretty high scoring day.

wow. is scoring no longer going to be hard in the league?
Sun Dec 21, 2008 6:25 pm
When was it hard?

It's not like players are scoring 50 points every game, either. These performances happen when the opportunity arises and sometimes you have days where a few players go off for 40 or 50+. Nothing wrong with that.
Crawford's also become the fourth player to score 50+ for at least three different teams joining Wilt Chamberlain, Moses Malone and Bernard King.

And to think the Rockets planned on drafting Roy... damn Pritchard. We had to settle for Gay, which led to Battier. Gay indeed.

Tony Delk once scored 50pts for the Warriors....there are numerous players across the NBA who have the ability to light it up & get 50....so no surprises to see a few high scores lately....it's just consistency that sets the good from the great....
