Thank you.

Got general players ability questions. I mentioned early i let all games run live simulation without interference. cpu vs cpu. There's some players like for example kevin martin hitting over 40-50 pts/game. What would you recommend to lower their scoring numbers without changin whole team off ability.
Is it only primacy or also off awarness + inside scoring (dribbles to rim) should be change>? How you calculate that? I'd love to change to more realistic figure. I am only few days into the season but I'm happy to present you with all my stats for real simulation season. I tried before many times in past and always failed. Maybe it could help somehow? BTW. I had P.Gasol hitting 52pts. Kobe avr is great arnd 30. Lebron never goes below 45.
Thanks mate

As I said in the other thread, you can't really do much with NBA Live 08 in that regard. It's simulation engine is a complete mess, in short if you want realistic simulated stats try another game in the series. NBA Live 08 PC was a monumental disappointment in many ways, simulated stats being one of the most prominent.

In the dinasty mode, the creation of the OKC Thunder produces a lot of problems.
Draft rights of OKC are Magic's ones, Magic rights Sixers' ones ... and finally Spurs rights OKC ones...
This is the same for the standings, teams haven't the one of other team.
I don't which file should be modified, can you help me?

Moreover you haven't actualised the last contract for Danny Granger, Stephen Jackson, and the latest ones.
I've changed it on my roster file, but your rosters could be better if you do it too...

Thank you for your good job, i like what you've done!

I'll have to look into that, it's a possible side effect of changing Seattle's CITYNAME. Strange, it wasn't happening for me originally. Nevertheless, I'll check it out.

About the contracts: The rosters in the patch are accurate as of November 11th, Stephen Jackson signed his extension on the 17th. I can't include what hasn't happened yet. ;) With extensions like Granger's, they're a bit tricky because they're going from a rookie contract to a bigger deal, so while I can increase the number of years I can't really update the contract amount properly. If I update the current salary, it'll be incorrect. If I set it so that it increases to the right amount in year 2, in the following years it'll go up just as much. Hence, neither situation is perfect.

Thank you Andrew. Keep up with great work. Many thanks to you and the rest guys like you for making nba live so much better.
BTW. You're completely right about older version. I remember playing 06 was much better expierence. Unfortunately my disc was broken so I bought 08 year ago.

It's disappointing what's happened to the PC version the past couple of years. Hopefully we'll see a return to the PC platform next year with a port from the Xbox 360 version.

Andrew I wanted give you a little advice. Since there is no more FSS you dont have to rate superstars fg ratings for scorers at 80 and above anymore. For example I have lebron fg rating at 73 instead of 84 so the cpu would focus on his other attributes like his playmaking ability so he would have games like 30pts 10asts shooting 47% instead of something like 45pts 3asts shooting 60%. With his fg rating at 84 he is way too dominant and settles for too many outside shots. Including players like Kobe,Wade,TMac,Pierce, Ray Allen, Allen Iverson...
The players also hog the ball. I know Lebron shoots the ball a lot but 34 shot attempts. I am not criticizing but I think this game AI is built to have lower fg ratings.

True, but the game still utilises those moves; they just don't call it Freestyle Superstars anymore. I'll consider it though. :)

In response to atlwarya9's post. I agree it does affect the cpu game pretty much. I lowered the heavy SG&SF scorers to using formula 0.93xoriginal AndrewsFG and the shooters tend to make less attempts than before. I also noticed it does not affect inside and post up players (i mean it affects their FG% but not limit their attempts. I noticed by lowering their inside scoring ability (0.93x orginal INSSC) they take less attempts in the post. That helps to boost other players scoring chances. At least it's my conclusion based on 2days of testing and watching cpu vs cpu games.
BTW. I tried formula of .88xFG (84 down to 73 mentioned by atlwarya9 for LeBron) but then FG% tends to be pretty low and total score of the game is rubbish too. I had few games with kevin martin with 5/20 and 7/23 from the field and that's bad.

some hrs later...

I noticed the formula does not work for inside superstars like kg, paul gasol (???) (he scored 47 in 32mins) - even after lowering his inscr and offawar. Kenyon martin shots a lot too. Maybe its the primacy rating which is my pain on a backside... cant figure it out at all. And as mentioned it's not simulation - it's real time game cpu vs cpu with me watchin it

Well, the bottom line is that NBA Live 08 is an extremely flawed game in its sim engine and shot distribution. I don't mean tweaking ratings but getting results anywhere like the ones you'll get in NBA Live 06 or even NBA Live 07 is pretty much a lost cause, we can try our best with it but we are very limited in what we can achieve. I really hope that the expected return to the PC platform next year will be an Xbox 360 port.

my simengin, aiact is by kris and tuning is modded by albys and the rating changes work fine with me with your roster and kris playbooks. I just can't use ea's flawed aiact its terrible.

What kind of simulated stats are you getting? Are they comparable to the results one gets in 06 and 07 across the board? If so, I'd certainly recommend more people try out those fixes in conjunction with the NLSC updates.
