Nene(Hilario) - Mr. X

Tue Nov 25, 2003 7:20 am

Do you know why Nene(Hilario) in nba.com and in NBA Live 2004 is named as: Nene. Why only his name? Looks really strange.

He asked the League to only be called by the name Nene :) .

Like Pele, Maradonna, Ronaldo and Rivaldo (All being brazil's players excluding Maradonna (Argentina))

yea he got his name changed cause the brazilian superstars all have only one name

I heard that he has legally changed his name to the one-word name. What's up with the lame ^? Does that mean anything in Brazilian?

Using a Ê puts emphasis on the pronounciation of the word.
I used to think that it was Nene... but now after hearing Marv Albert on TV, it's now NENÊ.

It's unbelievable that NENÊ Hilario would change his name to NENÊ after one year in the NBA. Guess he's preparing his name for whatever greatness he would achieve in the NBA, much like Pele, Maradonna, Ronaldo and Rivaldo. Guess it's easier to remember one word names than two. Shaq anybody?

CHEERS!

Hi, I´m from Brasil, and Nenê is known here in Brasil just for NENÊ.... NBA try to put he´s name to Hilário, but in Brasil, no one knows he for Hilário, just NENÊ.....

All brazilian superstars have just one name, like Pelé, Romário, Ronaldo..... It´s just a brazilian way to say the player name.

Thanks.....
