The Los Angeles Clippers acquired forward Zach Randolph and guard Mardy Collins from the New York Knicks today in exchange for forward Tim Thomas and guard Cuttino Mobley Clippers General Manager and head coach Mike Dunleavy announced today.
SourceI wonder how they are going to rotate Camby, Kaman, and Randolph.

One of them will obviously be there sixth man. Which sucks, but cause of this I kind of smell a Kaman trade coming soon.

Kaman for Gerald Wallace will happen very soon.

A trade that would actually help the Clippers?!
That goes against Science.

Chris Kaman for Gerald Wallace was already shot down by Dunleavy. However, that was before they landed Randolph.

this trade really makes no sense to me too. The knick just traded away their best rebounder. Perhaps this will mean more minutes for lee. The way I see it, NY's depth chart would have to look like this:
Curry
Lee > Harrington > Rose
Chandler > Thomas > Jeffries
Q-Rich > Mobley
Duhon > Robinson > Roberson
Unless of course they plan to play james, they would have a major deficit in rebounding. Or is there another trade is in the works???

Dont expect to see Eddy Curry on the court. Ain't gonna happen. I'm assuming that Lee gets the start at 5 with Harrington and Chandler next to him and Richardson and Duhon at the guard spots.
Rose and Thomas will probably get the bulk of the reserve minutes at 4 and 5. Lots of small-ball coming up.

Harrington will do the job that Randolph was doing, he will start at C, Lee at PF
Now on the Clippers... They lose their SG but they have Eric Gordon... But what they can do with Randolph-Camby-Kaman trio
Kaman days as a Clipp are counted... Kaman to Bobcats is more posible right now

Randolph, Kaman and Camby could work if someone's prepared to accept lesser minutes but I'd agree that it does seem to setup a future deal, most likely Kaman as it seems a few teams are interested in his services. With the Knicks trying to get under the cap to make a run at LeBron and co in 2010, it seems to be a deal that may work out much better for New York in the long run.

The NY "No-defence" Knicks continue to get worse and worse at the D.

These are moves being made to set up bigger things for the Knicks though, so we won't really know what impact they'll have on the team until the offseason of 2010. Short term they're lateral movements at best but I think Walsh is content to mark time on the court until 2010 rolls around and then start assembling the roster that is intended to seriously compete for bigger things.
