Strong performers...........

Tue Nov 25, 2003 10:45 am

Just trying to get a gauge of who you consider the strong performers in the game so far, whether they be obvious choices or players you didn't expect to be as good as they are.
Under obvious choices i would personally list Vince who is unstoppable once he is in motion and his jumpshot is not bad either, by my second season with him he had one of those three point icons. Yao is rediculous in the post mainly because of his reach, if you post him any where near the half circle....it's over.
Some suprises were Nick Collison, Chris Bosh and Lamar Odam who i switched to a point guard.

Mike Dunleavy Jr.

Radmanovich(sp?) for seattle, he generally goes 15 to 20 for 30 to 40 from 3 point range every game i play against them :(

Mourning was too active, didn't look like his present self. He played like Mourning before the kidney problem.

Bradley had 11 points, 17 rebs, and 9 blocks on me. I still won the game, but can he really do that?

not a chance....He might be the tallest player...but he is just the tallest player in NBA currently period. He can even hit a hook shot to save his life

It's funny cuz Don Nelson once said the best midrage shooter on his team is not Dirk, Nash, or Finley but it's Shawn Bradley!
But regardless those stats are quite unrealistic and very flattering. :D

when i was the mavs in live 2003 i started bradley and averaged a triple double with him 15, 13, 10, and 5 and got a few quadruple doubles, he was the mvp of the league and was probably the best player in live 2003, i have played a few games with him in live 2004 and he seems like he is dominant in that also.

I've scored 41 with J Kidd in 5 minute quarters, but that was probably when I was playing on "Pro" level (whatever it is below "All-Star") to learn the controls. I still score a lot with him (20+ every game with 5 minute quarters... and that's with fatigue too).

I remember in Live 2003 I scored tons with Charlie Ward of the NY Knicks, especially online (the man can shoot the trey). Also, Chris Childs on the Live 2003 Nets roster (I don't know if he ever played for them last year, though he signed with them).

Can you tell I like to score with point guards? :) They have the best handle so they turn the ball over less when you try crazy stuff.

Only when they can get the real life injury problems into this game can they get realistic scores. Shawn Bradley is good and was good last season in a couple of games he played, but the fact is that his body just can't handle the NBA too well and he is limited in minutes and games.

Can't remember when he played a whole season through... Has he ever done that?

He is a good player, but has trouble staying healthy and thus his confidense isn't that good and thus his game suffers... It's an unending ferris wheel that just keeps on turning and turning.

I still don't have Live 2004, but in previous versions you couldn't get injured at all. Only rarely did ever a player get hurt in Live's prime years 2000 and 2001 and you just couldn't get injured in 2003. This is fixed, but to what extent and how well it represents the reality of NBA is a whole question yet to be seen by me.

also he is noted as not being to physical and in the west that doesnt help you...he's also not aggressove on the boards he gets the ones that fall to his hands basically

I really like Dwayne Wade in game. Rip Hamilton is also a good choice.

i like ricky-D, he shoots way better than he was in 2003... :D

Okay, I gotta add Stojakovic now - I just got 59 with him against the zone-D playing Mavs.

Darko Milicic 7'0 but moves like a guard, fast, good inside and out shooting, same with Boris Diaw(6'8).

I would have to say C-Webb! He's dominant in the post and in grabbing boards. And if he is double teamed, he can simply pass to either Bibby or Stoiakovic for the 3 or pass to a cutting Finley for the easy 2. He also jumps high, so he's good in blocking shots. I'd say that he can be a potential quadruple double performer. :D
