Toronto Raptors Trades Graham For Wright!

ImageImage

Toronto, Ontario; October 30, 2009 - Bryan Colangelo didn't like how his team left his shooters wide open during the playoffs last year. Although it was because Dwight Howard was such a force inside, it was also because the guards couldn't move fast enough. Bryan Colangelo fixed the inside problem by bringing in Jermaine O'Neal, now, for the outside problem? Dorell Wright.

Wright is just a 20 year old this year with a contract of a year left. That's the same as O'Neal. Miami has no use for him as he's buried in the bench behind stars such as Wade, Beasley and Marion. So why not get an expiring contact for him? Joey Graham brings just that, he was draft with the 14th overall pick in the 2005 by the Raptors but he hasn't really shown anything yet. He's an up and down guy and the Raptors are tired of gambling on Graham all the time. Probably it's a coaching problem? Reily will fix it!

Toronto now get's a SF that can contribute. He might just be Toronto's next moon but at 20 years old!

Miami on the other hand get's an expiring and can shed off salary for a more productive player. Most preferably in the PG or C position.

Toronto Trade Grade: B
Miami: B

Toronto Claws Milwaukee In Home Debut

Image82 @ 96 Image

Toronto, Ontario - Sam Mitchell decided to use Andrea Bargnani today against the Milwaukee Bucks because Andrea Bargnani is an outside shooter and that can hopefully stretch the defense for Chris Bosh to operate inside and while Andrea Bargnani didn't get any points, Chris Bosh had a monstrous game with 20 Points and 19 Rebounds. "It's great that Sam Mitchell made the adjustment so both me and Andrea can benefit." Bosh said of Sam Mitchell's decision.

Anthony Parker scored 24 Points in tonight's game while holding Michael Redd to only 15. "Obviously when you have to guard a decent player, it's going to be hard and you try to beat him by using your brain and shooting only good shots and that's what I tried to do and got 24 today." Anthony Parker said about tonight's game, "Redd is one of the best players in the game and you have to respect his drive and shot but obviously he just didn't play well tonight."

Toronto's Bench outscored Milwaukee's Bench. 26 points compared 6 points. "Coach created a position for me to succeed and I did," Jermaine complemented about his bench role in tonight's game "he told me why Andrea needs to start tonight and I said no problem and we win. That's what's important."

Milwaukee's coach was furious after the lost, "It's super disappointing to lose to a team when they shoot 12.5% from the three point line while you shoot 40%." Scott Skiles angrily said. Tyronne Lue, the brightest player on the Milwaukee Bucks this game scored 24 points while getting 8 assists and Jefferson got 15 points along with 11 rebounds.

Toronto improves to 2-0 on the season and the Milwaukee Bucks fall to 0-2.

The Spurs Defeats the Raptors

Image105 @ 100 Image

Toronto, Ontario - Tim Duncan was unstoppable tonight. He scored 31 Points and got 16 Rebounds. Chris Bosh, the defender Toronto appointed for Tim Duncan couldn't contain him and Duncan got off to a great start. Especially in the second quarter where they outscored Toronto 33-25. Toronto never recovered and lots the game. "Things were really going my way." Tim Duncan said, "Jumpshot, hookshot, layup. It's all going in." Tim Duncan shot 75% and elevated the Spurs to beat the Raptors.

Chris Bosh got 15 Points and 7 Rebounds. "I can only learn from this and move on." Toronto Raptor Chris Bosh said of the game, "I can't weep from this or it'll just set us back." Jermaine O'Neal was also disappointed with his performance with only 1 Block. "I averaged 2 throughout my career, so theoretically, I need to get two a game." Jermaine O'Neal said about his disappointed block numbers today.

Jose Calderon got 23 points, outscoring Tony Parker who only got 19. "My job is to be the floor general of this team and they make the decisions, I guess my decisions just wasn't as good or I just didn't make the right ones. I got to go back to practice and play better the next game."

The Toronto Raptors drop to 2-1 and the San Antonio Spurs go up to 2-1.

Cleveland's Late Run Kills Raptors

Image122 @ 114 Image

Toronto, Ontario - Sam Mitchell decided to test Andrea Bargnani with Jermiane O'Neal and hopefully get a win but Lebron James had other plans. He scored 38 points with 8 assists and 7 rebounds and his teammate Delonte West scored 29 points and got 2 steals. "It's great that my teammates can step up so winning the game becomes easier." Lebron commented on West scoring 29.

Cleveland outscored Toronto by 15 points in the 4th quarter and Toronto was held scoreless in the end of the game. Daniel Gibson hits a 3 with 2:50 remaining to give the Cleveland Cavaliers a 104-103 lead in the 4th quarter but Anthony Parker scores a long 2 with 2:39 to go. Then Gibson sprinted and drove to the hoop at 2:35 and got a foul and scored both free throws. Kapono then scores a 2 with 2:21 remaining to give the raptors 107-106 lead. Gibson then misses on the following play and Bosh stuffs Zydrunas Ilgauskas to give the Raptors a 109-106 lead. Then Lebron started heating up and scores 2 straight baskets. One after a Jose Calderon turnover. The lead was 110-109 for the Cavaliers and Lebron sprints down the court to get a third basket but he missed Anthony Parker who drew a offensive foul but the momentum never got back to the Raptors as they missed the rest of the shots of the game.

"Really disappointing. We ended terribly. All we can do is hope for a better outcome tomorrow when we play Philadelphia Sixers." Toronto Raptor Chris Bosh said of the game.

"We really wasted what Jermaine gave us tonight." Sam Mitchell said, "He did great but we just didn't get the win."

The Toronto Raptors drop to 2-2 and lose 2 straight while the Cleveland Cavaliers go to 3-1.

Toronto Comes Out With A Goal

Image106 @ 125 Image

Toronto, Ontario - Ukic gets the start today because Sam Mitchell was very impressed with what he was doing in practice over starting shooting guard Anthony Parker but after a minute of not doing anything, Sam Mitchell pulled him out again.

Anthony Parker has been missing a lot of open shots lately and Sam Mitchell hasn't been impressed while Jason Kapono can't get a shot off because the wings are guarding him very tightly. Chris Bosh and Jermaine O'Neal along with Jose Calderon did what they are supposed to do and put up big stats for the Raptors. Bosh scored 28 points, got 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks while Jermaine O'Neal got 23 Pints, 6 Rebounds, 8 Assists, 2 Steals and 1 Block. Jose Calderon got 17 Points and 7 Assists. Dorell Wright got 15 points with 4-5 3 point shooting.

"They played well." Maurice Cheeks said of the Raptors, "They executed and did their stuff. That's what good teams do." The Philadelphia Sixers also have 5 players in double figures. Brand with 24 Points and 7 Rebounds, Andre Iguodala, 28 Points with 8 assists. Andre Miller with 17 points and 6 assists. ung with 16 points and 5 assists and Samual Dalembert with 10 Points and 7 Rebounds.

The Raptors outscored Philadelphia badly in the 1st and 3rd quarter. 46-23 and 36-28 respectively. "They had a decent run where we didn't score at all." Maurice Cheecks recalls, "They're a good team. Don't look at them by their record only. It's too early in the season."

Toronto improves to 3-2 on the season and the Philidelphia Sixers fall to 4-1. Their first loss of the season.

Chris Bosh Injured

Image

Toronto, Ontario - Chris Bosh went directly to his trainer and revealed that he felt some pain during the game. When the trainer tested him, they found out Chris Bosh has a sprained foot. Recovery will take 2 weeks.

"I'm saddened by the news." Chris Bosh said, "I want to go out and play and help out my teammates but now I can't do that anymore..."

Andrea Bargnani will be starting at Power Forward in Chris Bosh's absence.

Toronto Beats Winless Hawks

Image89 @ 122 Image

Toronto, Ontario - Sam Mitchell changes his mind again. Can Andrea Bargnani muscle Al Horford? He then decides to start Kris Humphris to muscle him and sure paid off! Jose Calderon was able to shoot more and so was Jermaine O'Neal. Both of them combined to get 56 Points. Andrea Bargnani didn't play well in this game, he only got 4 Points off free throws.

"It's great," Jose Calderon said after getting 30 points, "I wish I can do this every game."

Meanwhile, Atlanta only had Mike Bibby scoring over 20 points. Al Horford got 18 Points and 14 Rebounds. "I don't know, we just haven't won yet. I hope it picks up." Atlanta coach Mike Woodson said.

Toronto Cooled High Scoring Affair With Sacramento

Image105 @ 112 Image

Toronto, Ontario - Both teams run and sprint and shoot but Toronto wins the game. Sam Mitchell has nothing to say but good stuff about the Toronto Raptors. They played good highlight material defense and shot the ball decently. Jose Calderon went 6-13 at the three point line and made the Kings pay when they gamble on Jose and also Jose collected 3 steals by himself.

Sacramento Coach is in awe with what Toronto is doing this year and commented, "They have a group of players that just love playing basketball. Period. Nothing else to say."

Toronto improves to 5-2 on the season and the Sacramento Kings fall to 2-4.

Toronto Loses To Los Angeles In LA

Image117 @ 120 Image

Toronto, Ontario - It was a hotly contested match until the end of the 4th quarter when Kobe took over the game. He crossed, dunked, faded away for the shot and passed the ball to get assists. "I have to hand it to them." Sam Mitchell said, "They played great. We threw all kinds of defenses at Kobe but he stopped them all."

Kobe finished the game 2nd highest in the game. Jose Calderon got the highest points total at 42 points. "When we were down by a point," Jose Calderon said about losing, "I looked over at Anthony and just told him to step up because Jermaine and Dorell were all fouled out."

Toronto's forwards just didn't play well with Jermaine going 4-12 and 4 rebounds and Andrea Bargnani going 4-11 and 0-3 from 3 Point. Kris Humphries went 0-2 and Nathan Jawai didn't even have a chance to shoot the ball. Also, Toronto's bench only scored 7 points compared to 25 from Laker's bench. "We were very lucky to have ended that close." Sam Mitchell said of the bench scoring, "Jose elevated his game to new heights and I guess we just signed the right guy this summer."

Phil Jackson wasn't nearly as impressed although he was content with getting the win. "We're still a big shaky." Phil Jackson said, "We still need to get a few things sorted out but a win is a win." He also added, "Jose is a good player. He helped Toronto almost win."

Toronto drops to to 6-3 on the season and the Los Angeles Lakers go to 6-3.

Billups Not Enough For Denver To Beat Toronto

Toronto, Ontario - Bosh finally came back after two weeks and started his debut off with a win. Jermaine O'Neal stepped up big to give Bosh a happy return. "It's good to come back and win. It just feels so good." Jermaine O'Neal said. Bosh is really happy that his team went 4-1 without him. "I'm really proud of this club. They play well and win. That's what's important."

Without Camby Denver's defense suffered today as Toronto's center's combined for XXX points. "It's hard." Steven Hunter said, "When you're my age, you're supposed to be on the bench but i'm still starting. I'm not saying starting is bad but this team needs a change.

Toronto goes up to 7-3 on the season and the Denver Nuggets drop to 5-3.
