Copy legends to existing dynasty issue

I downloaded the NBA ive 08 Current Roster 2.1,I tryed to update the player.dbf/apparence.dbf using DBCommander for my existing dynasty to include Olajuwon from the pool legends in my team,

I have also reduced the salary to fit within my salary cap but it crashes when I try to play the game.

I have deleted the Olajuwon record from both files (player/apparence => My document/NBA Live 08/save name/directory) but for some reasons it still coming up when i load my dynasty.

Everytime I want to start a dynasty (existing or new) it crashes (season is ok)

Is there other files that need to be updated like originaldb or is it something not possible?

I do have an original copy on dvd but i would like to fix this without reinstall the game or maybe just get off the files of the cab that i need in order to put back everything as it was.

No, the only files you should touch are the ones in the save folder. The problem is when you delete rows from players.dbf like that, you usually end up with errors. To remove a player from the visible rosters you just need to change their TEAM to 32 (the Retired Pool).

I'd recommend starting over though as you're probably going to have problems with that dbf file having made those edits.

Thanks for your telling me how to delete players. So what you saying is to reinstall the game as there's no way to fix player.dbf in the save folder..??

What about copying data from player.dbf to a new file,would this change something?

And why this affects the dynasty mode,i mean if I try to start a new dynasty it crashes,should this happens only for my existing dynasty..??

No, you shouldn't need to reinstall your whole game, just reinstall the rosters.
