Radios here in detroit reporting that allen iverson is coming here for chauncey billups and McDyess... wow.... idk what to say to that.. i think all pistons fans are still in a state of shock....... i d k what iverson will bring to our team....i've just read the reports that denver has contacted joe dumars regarding a swap that was billups for iverson.

I don't get that at all. AI is past his prime, plays little defense, and puts up a lot of shots. WTF is Dumars thinking?
Tue Nov 04, 2008 3:25 am
Wow, seriously? Now the ruined their chances to get the the Conference Finals again, not to mention further.
Very dumb move by the Pistons.

with all due respect to billups, this might actually be a good move for detroit. Detroit gets added fire power for this year. If this experiment does not go well, they'd be in a good position to acquire a quality player in the off season by dumping AI and wallace's contract. Although the pistons might be doing well, this shake-up might help.
I wouldn't say this is a bad trade for denver either. They are getting a proven leader in return. And McDyess gives them another body in the front court. Billups for me has been one of the greatest sleepers in the nba. Players like him are not easy to find. Time will tell who actually robbed who.

Ah, Iverson's a big expiring contract, guess that makes it a bit more comprehensible.
Still shocked though ..
Tue Nov 04, 2008 3:56 am
Really shocked about it

.
Although Detroit isn´t excactly my favourite team, it´s good to see him back in the East and get little better chance at the title(or PO at least).
Tue Nov 04, 2008 4:03 am
Now that is sick. Never would have thought that. Shocked is the real expression.
Tue Nov 04, 2008 4:07 am
First reaction was "What the ..??"
Well, Detroit talked about big changes, which didn't come. Now it's here. AI was almost traded to the Pistons a couple of years ago, when he had problems with Larry Brown. Guess this time it's going through.

Made a pre.

you're quick
Tue Nov 04, 2008 4:49 am
That was quick.
Man, remember the last time the Pistons traded for a star? What's his name, Sheed?
Tue Nov 04, 2008 4:52 am
Wow, that's great news! As much as I like AI, I think Billups will be better for Carmelo and JR. As for McDyess, he's a great pick up too. The Nuggets are the winners in this deal

It didn't cost them a former Finals MVP, then.

According to
nba.com report, McDyess says "he will not put on a Nuggets uniform" and may opt to retire. This gets things even more interesting

I'm guessing Motown is gonna make a run at the 2010 Free Agency class with LeBron, Wade, Amare, Bosh, etc.
Good move IMO as early as they can deal Billups for an expiring contract, but I guess it was too early. Just 2 games into the season.

You wouldn't trade a
former Finals MVP for a future championship?
-Disclaimer: I'm not saying the Pistons will win a championship this year. The "quote me in..." works once per year.

I'm loving it. Finally AI is out of that shithole Denver. Plus he's got another shot at the trophy with the Pistons. Dumars got mad GM-game.
Tue Nov 04, 2008 5:52 am
Holy cow... surprising and shocking but intriguing. Denvers finally get's a solid PG and Detroit more offense. And with the cap space the Pistons have if they chose not to resign him... wow Dumars is a genius.

Now it´s official
Also, Denver waived Juwan Howard
Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:41 am
I was shocked when I read it, my eyes became quite big. I hope it works out for both parites. I must say though, not too big of a fan of Denver for some reason. (Some reason: jerseys.)
P.s. : Jao, I know I'm sexy.
