it depends on the angle of the camera...one angle of the freethrow shows alot of the crowd and lights from the stands....it lags the game so much...what i did with mine (coz i dont have the best system) is i lowered the crowd details...no lag on any parts of the game...the players in ultrahigh and other settings on high except for the crowd which i care dont really pay much attention to while playing...

hope this helps..

If you are playing on the xbox 360, only a patch can fix it and hopefully 2K is working on fixing that issue. I believe it is due to the crowd having such a high quality. If you are playing on the PC, lower crowd detail to medium or lower and you should not experience the lag.

i forgot to tell that i am playing on pc sorry..
@fumanchu we have the same settings ,,, my pc can only play up to crowd medium with everything maxed out but even if i turn crowd to low it still lags on the first shot.... maybe its the angle of the camera but on one experience the first and the second have the same angle but only the first lags....

BUT IT'S STILL tHE BEST FREAKING SPORTS GAME!!!!

Yep. Same here. Even if I turn Crowd to LOW, it still lags a lot during the first free-throw.

Not sure what you mean by lag. You're not talking about the free throw routine, are you? If you want to skip it, just turn it off in the settings.

I experience about a 2 second delay from the time the ref gives me the ball to the time I can shoot. It's part of the game I think. Just like the annoying fact that it takes about 1 second for a shooter to pull up for a J, enough time for the defender to get up in my grille.

They are talking about a low frame rate.

It is the angle and the sequence cut scene. If the cemera stays at the game angle, there is no lag. If we can find ways to keep the cemera at game cemera and eliminte teh sequence cut scene, we would resolve the lag problem. I'm having lags everytime, the game goes to sequence cut scene, first free throw, between quarters, half time, and end of games.

Same problem here.

2k should have given the option to turn off closeups and such

hopefully someone will create a patch

In fact, i wish we had the choice to turn off cut-scenes. Because they are all buggy/glitchy/choppy. I mean, they have put some waypoints for the AI and AI is trying to reach those waypoints. Whenever they are late, all of a sudden they are starting to run fast to reach those waypoints and it looks sooooooooooooo weird.

I'm OK with the FT cut-scenes BTW. Because of high arena and crowd quality, i also face some slowdowns, but no matter for me. ;)

I can play the game just fine but it lags at the beginning, during first free cpu free throw, between quarters, and at the end of the game. It is worst during half time. It doesn't lag at all during game play..just with cut scenes. I'm running med crowd, med. bench, and high player on a 22" wide screen monitor.
