NBA Live 09 Xbox 360 & Playstation 3 Issues

Please use this thread to post all bugs/issues with NBA Live 09 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Please keep any EA bashing to a minimum as these threads are meant for a constructive purpose, namely as a listing of known issues to clear up any "Is it just me?" questions and if necessary, report issues to EA Sports so that a fix can be developed.

Please note that "outdated rosters" is not a bug, it's a result of NBA video games having a cutoff date for the rosters. The official updates will take care of missing players and trades throughout the season. Any other bugs and issues though, please post them here.

NBA Live 09 PS3 auto replay: lag & dropped frames

Everytime when a good basket is auto-replayed (or even manually re-played by pressing L1), the graphics are super lag and some frames are even skipped. I don't know if this is my disc problem or the game its own.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Hmm can't seem to get the add-on (OKC Thunder stuff) in the game, downloaded it, installed, but a no show in the game itself................
Anybody knows more or how?? Would be greatly appreciated.

downloaded the THunder art update but it doesn't seem to update the "teams.dbf" on the game so you still play the Oklahoma City Oklahoma City instead of the Oklahoma City THunder. small annoyance, but noticable.

Same here, as well as the sprite highlight reel not showing at all for me. ?Just a static screen like something is supposed to happen, but nothing does.

I hope someone comes up with a thread here that would explain all the plays that are found in nba live 09 this year. There was a thread about the plays in past nba lives. I wish that in the future ea would allow the gamers to create their own basketball plays. both on offense and defense.

I'm on a ps3, the sprite highlight reel doesn't show, seems related to teams or something. I saw one with memphis but so far none with miami... (dynasty)

couldn't a lot of bugs get patched via the live 365 this year? if enough people complain, maybe ea could patch the game through 365. honestly, i havent had any issues yet, or bugs.

playing on the ps3 here. every so often, when it does the closeup of the player reactions after a shooting foul is committed, it'll freeze on me. the ticker will still be going on, and the jerseys will still be flapping in the wind, but the player animation stops and button presses do nothing. i have to press the ps button and quit out. does this happen to anybody else? also, i get slowdown during the academy, most notably during the 5v5 practices and rebounding drills.

Most likely, especially when it comes to roster issues.

Can anybody confirm how the game runs on PS3? I played the demo at EB & there were serious slowdowns on replays. Was very surprised by this, just wondering if this is only a demo problem. I'm guessing it must be, as they wouldn't release a PS3 game with huge framerate problems, as other EA & 2k games that I've played don't have this problem.

EDIT: One last thing, whilst I'm asking, but does Live have a Shot Stick using right analog stick or can it be assigned? I find it a lot more intuitive than using face buttons. If it can be assigned, I think control system for me at least, would be good.

My friend has a PS3 and he claims that the slowdown is still present during replays. But its the same for the 360. Actually even 2k9 has some framerate problems during free throws and some close-ups on the X360.
And no you cant assign shooting to the right analog stick but the controls are tight.

I've also noticed that there is a problem in the standings in dynasty, the rankings aren't correct: i've got atlanta at 4-3, and 4th in the league but plenty more teams have a better record.... hope this doen't cause trouble for the playoffs....

I have the exact same problem, and I don't know what to do?

Probably not much we can do except note it and report it to EA. I've noticed the framerate dip a little during replays in the 360 version as well but that's the only time.

In the box scores during the dynasty mode some players appear twice.

Every time I play with OKC Thunder I get a black screen, but the game keeps running. If not that the game just freezes and I have to restart my Xbox360.

I'll have to look out for that boxscores issues. Haven't had a lockup with the Thunder yet.

Also: Some times you walk trough defenders as if they where ghosts. And it's the same with the backboard, some times when the cpu scores from behind the backboard the ball goes trough the glass like it isn't there.

Not sure if anyones mentioned this but in time outs when the starting 5 takes their seats, the back of the seats dissappear and you'll see parts of their jersey and shorts overlap the chair. Not really and issue but a bug..
