Dude, the game is out. You can go buy it now and find out the answers to your questions. I can see if it wasn't released yet, and myself and Doobie had the game early (like we did), but its available for everyone now.

So go pick it up, its probably the best sports game of the year. Its an impression thread. You get the game and everyone gives their impressions.

I'd like to read your thoughts on it, or anyone's impression I find it kind of interesting so go get it :wink:

I can only afford to purchase one basketball game this year. My Gamefly account is canceled indefinitely, so I can't rent them. I've played the demos, but the Association Mode is the most important to me.

Association mode is only in 2k9.

I've read that the simulated stats in association mode were perceived to be broken. I haven't checked it out, myself. It might have to do with the rosters/ratings, and Rashidi from operationsports.com has been doing some thorough testing of the sim engine. Seriously dude, get off the fence and buy 2k9. Its the only purchase you need to make :wink:

If you check out the 2k forums BL (Blue Lightning) has some SIM sliders that will blow your mind :shock:

Absolute realism! I messed with mine a bit (Length of quarter), and played on Hall of Fame difficulty....simply amazing!

JWL3: Lane Violations don't exist in this game they do not let you move until it is possible to actually move through the rules. Question for you, you've been here for 4 years and have less then 200 post!? lol amazing dude.

Lamrock: The sim engine has improved a lot since 2k8, I like everything about this game better except online, I have yet to find any annoying glitches or anything and I like the fact that the team with the best record gets rewarded. Example, I had Derrick Rose leading my team to a 64 win record one year, and he had 18 pts 5 reb 9 ast as his averages and he won MVP. Those are good numbers but both Chris Paul and LeBron had better numbers, but there teams sucked. There are a bunch of guys who score a lot in this game though.

Thanks for clearing that up. I picked 2K9 up tonight, and I have found that is has improved a lot; best I've witnessed thus far.

Well EA hasn't exactly gotten me shouting and screaming for joy about their crap Live series lately. Trust me, I've been with Live since before it was cool (Owned NBA Showdown 94 on SNES, Live 95-2001 on PC, 2002 on PS2, 2003-2008 on PC.) The last 2 years have been horrible and killed my enthusiasm for video bball. 2k9 is beginning to rejuvenate it.

Question for you Doob. Are last second shots actually possible? I'm used to NBA Live 08 on PC where if you were down by a basket with 2 seconds remaining, you may not even get a shot off because of the retarded jump catch inbounds pass. WORST GAME EVER!

Last second shots are possible. Nothing like Live. You can actully get it up fairly quickly :wink:
