I always thought 2k8 looked nice, but damn, that Nash comparison is ridiculous. (Y)

it kinda looks like your comparing next gen vs ps2 graphics. some of those pics (bad quality ones) are way off its hard to beleive that their from xbox360/ps3~

Well here is what the author who uploaded the pictures wrote:

These pictures were taken from a 19" Dell Monitor using VGA on 1240*768 resolution. This is better than high definiton. Well it looks better than my HDTV. And I use a 600$ camera. Of course they will look different from a picture with a digital camera, its bound to happen.

they really improved their faces in 2k9. it's excellent

Wed Oct 01, 2008 7:19 am

Thats not even just a small improvement...wow!

Thank God the players have necks this year. I never realized how big the players' heads were compared to their bodies in 2k8.

Wed Oct 01, 2008 8:47 am

those CF's looks good because they're next gen. but they don't look like the real players IMO.

2k8 doesn't have that problem and this 2k8 image look like shiet compare to you playing it on T.V. The guy who took this image over at operation sport had to do some resizing thats why the shoulder and body look that small.

Major contrast, yes, although it looks like the guy who took the pictures deliberately made some of the 2K8 ones look worse than they really are, with the different lighting, angles and such. Still, those are some pretty graphics. However, I have noticed that both Live and 2K look great up close in paused replay mode, but in motion look mediocre.

Wed Oct 01, 2008 11:19 am

He did, whether it was deliberate or not.. I don't remember seeing any "balloon heads" with tiny shoulders in 2k8.

Wed Oct 01, 2008 12:42 pm

Those are nice!!! I never realized how plain looking they were last year. Looks like there is not really a need for cyber faces this year.

Wed Oct 01, 2008 1:07 pm

Who cares? I'm not really going to see their faces when I have a 5-on-5 view of the court.

:P

:? Is there that much difference in these pics? It seems to me that the big difference lies in the picture quality.

I somewhat agree with you. Some are pretty much the same, then again, some faces have been improved dramatically, especially the eyes.

I agree with Cy too, but it's definitely cool to see the accurate close-ups during gameplay as well.
