Passing the ball is killing my game.

What is the best way to pass the ball in 04? I'm constently turning the ball
over with my passes. I know there is a direct pass button but I have a hard time getting use to it. And it's no guarantee that the ball won't get stole. Any advice would be appreciated. Thx.

Direct passing and the fast break button are the best ways to go.

in pc there's a direct pass button to be assigned if you look at the controller options. when pressing the direct pass buttons, you will see pass icons above the players... for example, using houston rockets, while controlling steve francis and pressing the direct pass button, above his teammates like yao ming has a "pro-hop..." text above him. Now, pressing the pro-hop button will directly pass the ball from francis to yao. and so on and so forth.

for fastbreak pass.... just press the direct pass button twice and the player who holds the ball on the defensive end will automatically pass the ball to far offensive end of the court.

I just wish we had more control over the way the players pass. I mean it's kinda sad when you want to lob the ball to the weakside once you get double-teamed in the post, but your players streaks a pass over there that is intercepted at least 50% of the time...

Tapping the pass button twice -> lob pass... now that would be a good feature :D

JohnnyK has the right idea. However, I would say forget the tapping. Rather, do it like football games do for the quarterback: tap pass for lob, press normally / longer for regular pass. Maybe if you hold the pass button you do a bounce pass... the would be cool. OF course this would have to be a feature to turn on and off, so the no0bs wouldn't get confused. :D

Doh. Told you I'm getting dumb. I saw all those buttons underneath the player, and I thought it was the play they would do if they got the ball and the cpu controlled him or her. thanks for the help.
