Dynasty free agent resigning....

Wed Aug 13, 2008 2:15 pm

Is there anyway to get around the cap?? I'm trying to resign a star player and the cap won't let me!! Dynasty mode seems pretty useless to me because I want controll of y roster going in to select how long each player is under contract for so they are not all free agents at the same time. ot to mention I like my rosters to mirror the NBA rosters for the most part but the computer makes idiotic trades and trade star players from teams when there is no way they would be traded. Like the PS2 traded Lebron to philly for Iguadola and another player?!?!?! And several other bone head trades. I may be alone in wanting to play my rosters close to the actual rosters and play along with the real season. One of the old versions let you control every aspect of the the rosters and players even in season mode don't remember which year/s (I've had every ver since 95) cept 04 & 01. Anyways enough venting if anyone can help i'd appreciate it. I kind of want to play this dynasty mode thing out for 2 or 3 seasons just to do it. Never actually played Dynasty mode before. Thanks!

try to edit the roster salary cap...ask andrew for a gud explaination...

If you're playing on the PS2 however, there are no workarounds because we can't edit that version of the game.

That sux, I am playing on PS2. Ok Going into Dyn mode is there anyway to adjust the Contract length like you can do in madden? Like if you release players in Madden 08 then you can resign them for 2 or 3yrs.

Unfortunately not, they keep the same salary and contract data when you're editing the rosters.

You think 09 will be different?? That really sux when I created this player I created him for this team. I want to keep my team in tact for the most for. I've traded alot of my bench guys to make cap room but it barely made e dent in my cap. I can't believe noone has found a work around for this or a cheat atleast.

I highly doubt it'll be any different in 09. The best workaround is to simply make transactions outside Dynasty Mode and then use those custom rosters when you start a new Dynasty game (since you don't need to worry about the cap when you're trading, releasing and signing players or CPU teams refusing deals when working outside Dynasty Mode).

Oh that brings up a good question can you import rosters to dynasty mode? And since I've already played 1 season would it affect my guys' stats?? Well Thanks for answering all my questions so patiently. I appreciate it. But this game atleast Dyn mode is not worth it to me. They don't give you enough room to manuever thru the cap to keep your Dynasty intact for the most part like in real life. And the computer makes really stupid trades. You use to be able to control all aspects of the roster and edit all players based on the season they had but, there was no dynasty mode then it was season if I remember correctly.
I can't go out and get 09 I'll just have to see what they do with 10. But thanks again Andrew. Let me know if you run across ay work arounds or codes to circumvent the cap.

Unfortunately not, once you take a custom roster (or the default roster for that matter) into Dynasty Mode, that's it.
