Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Your right, nobody questioned whether the topic was valid, I had just woken up and read lamrock's "Earth to mods" post and bowdown's "general discussion" post. I also did not know Google Chrome had just come out, so I perceived your reply of bowdowns post as mocking, similar to your reply to kobe16. Not that it was horrible or anything, but you continued to mock and Lamrock decided to join, adding fuel to any fire that was starting.
Its general discussion Suck my cock.
This was not needed, either. bowdown, I'm sure you know people on the internet will always be trying to make a witty comment or one-liner to get a laugh or have fun in any way they can. Sometimes we take things too serious. We have been very tolerant by letting you continue to post here after some of the things you have posted before.
I'd like to leave it at that.
On topic, sort of-
I'm not going to try Chrome yet. I didn't try firefox when it first came out, only to switch after hearing impressions about it from friends. I never even upgraded IE to version 7. Once I hear more about it, then I will give it a try.

I was enjoying chrome, but I decided to go back to Mozilla. If Google ever develops an add-on like Adblock Plus for their browser, then I'll switch.

I'm trying it out right now...
The interface looks sleek and simple. I like it; though I think Firefox is still better.

Stop pirating the internet.
Indeed. I never really had any issue with IE
Should've switched to Opera years ago!

You were using IE6? That sir, is a hate crime.

What do you like about Firefox that makes it better?

Roughly 25% of users still use IE6

It's a pain in the ass to design websites for that pos browser.

It's got a few interesting features, but some others aren't as useful as they make them to be, and some other features aren't even innovations. I mean, Dynamic Tabs, Incognito Mode? Safari's had that since 2005 when 2.0 came out. Same thing with Instant Bookmarks, Mozilla created it as a FF3 feature.
I don't really like the "simpler downloads" thing, I mean it's not really simpler and it takes up extra space on the window. Why couldn't they build Opera's download system instead? It's much more efficient (and much more elegant, design-wise) having a whole different tab just for your downloads than a taskbar thingy on the bottom of your current tab.
On the other hand, I really like the "suggestions as you type" feature. It's also built into FF3 but it gives you suggestions only from the pages you previously bookmarked so Chrome brings this feature to a whole new level. Also, the "New Tab" and Crash Control features are very useful too.
One thing I haven't seen though, is the Search Bar right next to the URL bar. I use Firefox as my main browser just because of the fact that I can install as many search engines on that bar as I want, and it really makes things much faster. I haven't really used Chrome yet because they haven't released a Mac version (shame on you Google, shame on you!) so this feature could be built into the new tab thing. Still, having the Search Bar as part of the toolbar instead of as part of a tab seems more efficient to me.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they built an RSS reader into Chrome, so their whole "One Box for Everything" philosophy is kind of bogus. I use Safari's built-in RSS reader every day, and I do find it much better than, say Vienna or any other stand-alone RSS reader.
So yeah, there's a few things to work on, but overall it's a pretty solid effort for a beta.

They actually have a brilliant concept: "For example, start typing "amazon", wait for it to find the Amazon website, and then hit the Tab key. You can now type a search string into the bar to search Amazon. Brilliant."

I used to use the RSS reader for Safari until Leopard's Mail adopted it. I find it much easier to use RSS as part of the Mail software.

If you click on it, it creates it in a new tab like Opera has.

The address bar IS the search bar. And you can customize it so if you wanted to search wikipedia you could set it to automatically do so when you type "w homosexuality" or for encyclopedia dramatica "e an hero".

I'd have to try that for myself. I'm very used to the Search Bar so I wouldn't know how much time it'd take me to get used to that feature...I used to use the RSS reader for Safari until Leopard's Mail adopted it. I find it much easier to use RSS as part of the Mail software.
I don't use Mail very often. Maybe once, twice a day at most. I mean, I'm sixteen and I don't get much e-mail so I basically keep Mail.app closed unless I have to e-mail someone or check my e-mail. Safari, on the other hand, I use a lot, hence I find it's more convenient for me to read my articles/RSS feeds there. If you click on it, it creates it in a new tab like Opera has.
When you do click on it, does the little download tbar disappear from the other tab? I don't like unnecessary clutter, I like things neat, and I wouldn't want a download bar on the bottom of my browser window. Hell, I don't even like the status bar on the bottom of my browser window.

Safari 4 will be out soon, so that should be interesting. I'm happy with the new browsers that are popping up that should improve usability.
