A bit off-topic, but I didn't want to create a new thread, and this is about ranking dynasties.
I devised a very simplistic method of rating dynasties. Obviously, it is flawed, and pertains to things
I value in dynasties, but I nonetheless found it to be pretty accurate in its correlation with how the dynasty of the year voting went. Here is the scoring system:
40 - Enjoyability (How fun a read it is)
25 - Presentation (How good it looks)
15 - Realism (self-explanatory, really)
15 - Longevity/Consistency (Clutch and Chaser get 15/15 here)
5 - Interactivity (Disputable whether it should be a category, but its only worth 5 points. Player cameos, and prediction games here)
Obviously, the ratings tend to intertwine with each other. In theory, a dynasty could have a prediction game, be exactly like the real NBA, be beautiful and have a gripping story, but only go for one post. Rather than scoring an 85, the lack of longevity would drag everything else down.
For example, I would give my own dynasty (not biased at all, heh) these ratings:
E: 30, P: 20, R: 9, L: 13, I: 5, Total: 77/100
A higher scoring dynasty would be The X's Bobcats.
E: 40, P: 24, R: 14, L: 14, I: 5, Total: 97/100
Kind of a pointless, long-winded post (I know I need to get a life), but it could be cool to have a dynasty scoring system. (Don't worry, unless you want me to, I won't go into your dynasty thread and rate it)
