Good pick up for the Paper Clips if you ask me.

Holy shit, I didn't know they were THAT desperate...

They should have went after Josh Smith, but the Hawks would have probably matched any offer sheet. Smith just signed one with the Grizzlies, and the Hawks should match that one.

didnt know JWill was willing to come off the bench

For a shot at another Championship ring, why not?

Sat Aug 09, 2008 3:23 pm

Then why did he sign with the Clippers?

Sat Aug 09, 2008 3:39 pm

LOL @ clippers.

Ricky Davis, now this guy... Who are they gonna take next, Chris Quinn?

Perhaps he liken his chances with the new look Clippers? Just like how James Posey believe his new team, NOK is going to be doing great? I maybe wrong though, but that's just my 2-cents opinion...

New Orleans should indeed be doing great. But the Clippers? Hell naw, they look extremely crappy, they f'd up their entire roster and won't even make it to the playoffs. Not even the biggest retard on earth would assume they have a shot at the trophy.

He might not have been getting the kind of offers he was hoping for from other teams.

I don't mean to branch this off too far; but perhaps a recent team that comes to mind was the Atlanta Hawks during the playoffs. I believe the media/critics wrote them off (prior to the playoffs) as they had to face the Celtics in the 1st rd. Who would have thought they stretched the Celtics all the way to game 7.

Not that I'm rooting for the Clippers, but with Baron Davis, Marcus Camby and Al Thorton in the roster, they may stand a chance.

Could have stayed with Miami, unless Pat didn't make an offer to retain his services (seems likely the case).

well they almost made it to the Western Finals but Posey fills a need at the 2. he should be better than Mo Pete.

As long as Dunleavy points a gun at Williams' head and threatens to pull the trigger whenever he takes a pull-up jumper or a shot that isn't a layup, it's a perfectly good signing at minimum dollar, considering that he's become an efficient passer. This signing is much better than the ridiculous Ricky Davis pickup.

It wouldn't surprise me either if he wasn't in Miami's plans moving forward, the Clippers probably showed the most interest so he took their offer.

I have no doubt about that, considering the experiences he brings with him to NO.

Seems like Miami is doing some re-shuffling of their roster to get themselves back into Championship contenders again and JWills is not part of it as you've put it, Andrew.

Man, so many players are going to Europe or the Clippers... which, ironically, have about the same chances of winning the NBA championship.

I know this sounds weird, but did you guys ever think that the Nuggets believe the Clippers wont do so well so they'll get a decent 2nd round pick that they could use for a big man

Mon Aug 11, 2008 8:24 am

They traded Camby for the option to swap second round picks in 2010. So, no. They did it to cut salary.
