Pre-inserting a rookie class

Sat Nov 15, 2003 3:53 pm

I was wondering if it's possible to pre-insert rookie players into players.dbf file and then draft them in a following off-season.

Can anyone who has a PC-version try this? Just create a player and designate him to the rookie team might do...

If it works, then i will go and create 90-91 season roster and all rookie classes for 91~2002 seasons!

Thanks in advance.

i'm not sure if it works with nbalive2k4 but what i did in nbalive2k3 was after the draft i look for the player i drafted in the players.dbf file and change his name, looks and etc... just try doing this and tell me if it works...

That should work but that's not what i want.
I want to draft them from the first place..

Imagine starting from the 90-91 season and drafting guys like Shaq and Penny Hardaway as you go on. I was going to make a 90-91 season roster and make rookie class patches for all the rookies from 91~2003.

I looked around the dbf file for a while but nah, i can't do it. it's impossible. to me at least :( :(

The main problem with that in 2003 was that there was no place to save between the generation of the new rookie class and the draft. In fact you couldn't save until after the season started.

I wish there was a way also. I have several custom players that I have been using since Live '95 and it would be cool to draft them in dynasty mode and run them over a career.
