if you're on your first season then try to unload shaq to teams like philadelphia who are above the salary cap. you'll be getting less than stellar players in return but shaq usually retires the next year (for me at least).

Maybe try trading Shaq for Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors or Rashard Lewis of the Orlando Magic and then move Amare to center.

Also try trading Shaq along with Diaw/Barbosa/Bell for Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic.

Shaq will retire in the next 2 years so finding a replacement is necessary.
