Automated Lay Ups?

How come most of the times i'm near the basket and press SHOOT the player goes for a lay up instead of a jump shot?
Is there any way to changee it?

There are some contextual shots in the game, particularly around the basket. Outside any custom aiact.viv files that remove these shots, there's no way to prevent players from attempting those shots around the basket.

I would think- at least its been my experience- that no matter how close you are to the hoop and no matter how many defenders you have on you, the shot should be a jumper rather than a layup. Dunks are often altered to be layups if the lane is clogged or the dunk is contested.

Your situation sounds like a bug. Have you checked you controller config? Have installed any new patches that may be causing this? Have you not downloaded all the patch that were to correct all bugs?

I don't think it's a bug, there are a few contextually based shots in the post that are used instead of the regular jumpshot. I could be mistaken but I think that's what bomba90 is referring to.
