And now Krystkowiak was fired

Sat Apr 19, 2008 1:01 pm

So much for the four year deal. He didn't get much of a chance to turn things around but I suppose it's inevitable that new brass would want to bring in their own coach moving forward, especially given the Bucks' record this season.

This article pretty much sums up what I was trying to say about Skiles in my previous post.

Fri Apr 25, 2008 10:18 am

If he gets the ball to Bogie, I'll be happy. Otherwise, it will be a sham. I think he'll do well though.

Fri Apr 25, 2008 10:42 am

I hope so too, though he'll probably bench him the moment he misses two shots in a row.

So are they going to sign all the bench players the Mavericks cast off? Is a sign-and-trade coming for Devean George next? Is Jerry Stackhouse their big free agent target for next year?
Sauru, back in June 2007, wrote:you know is yi signs with the bucks and turns into a great player, constant deserving all star and helps milwaukee get deep into the playoffs i will forever be haunted by the ray allen trade.

Heh.
me, back in September 2007, wrote:Ignoring that they probably overpaid for Williams in a market that did not exist.

They brought back Desmond Mason for $10 million for some insane reason, signed Jake Voskuhl to a $3 million deal, failed to understand negotiation over Yi, brought back a player the media indicated wanted no part of the team on a five year contract. Rounded out the roster with Michael Ruffin, Royal Ivey and Awvee Storey. In a five-on-five contest between Voskuhl-Ruffin-Storey-Mason-Ivey and the best NLSCers I would be tempted to put money on the NLSCers to score more points.
...
I do not see how bringing back two players they already had and adding Yi would change [their sucking].

Unless Simmons plays like he did in Los Angeles, and Yi is a near all-star rookie, AND Mason shakes off two years of epic fail, I don't see how they got any better.

Heh.

I miss the Bucks Insider...

I don't quite get the Lue signing....is he their 3rd PG? They got Maurice Williams & Ramon Sessions & nobody else will get minutes at PG....ahh well I guess....

Sun Jul 20, 2008 10:51 pm

An insurance policy, I guess.

Mon Jul 21, 2008 2:30 am

Yeah i would rather them play Sessions than Lue. Sessions showed good signs last year, and is doing well in the summer league too.

Read this on Okafor re-signing article on ESPN:

ESPN wrote:An annual salary of $12 million would be in line with the contract extension 2005's No. 1 overall pick Andrew Bogut received from the Milwaukee Bucks earlier this month. Bogut signed a five-year deal with $60 million with hard-to-reach incentives that, if realized, could take the overall worth of the contract past $70 million.

Reference: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3509028

For me, that's what I suspected. I always thought $12 million/year was fair value for Bogut considering what guys like Nene, Kaman, Dalembert, etc get. I'm guessing the incentives relate to All-Star appearances, NBA championships, division titles, conference titles, averaging 20ppg & 10rpg in a season, but just a guess.

Wed Jul 30, 2008 5:59 am

Still not a bad payday for Bogut even if he doesn't reach those incentives.

Wed Jul 30, 2008 9:11 am

A bit late but just wanted to highlight my happiness of Bogut being signed to that new deal. It shows that the franchise regards him as an important player. I hope that they utilize him like one during the season though. It frustrates me that one game he will go 25 and 12 or the like and the next game he is 11 and 7 or something.

Wed Jul 30, 2008 6:23 pm

Same here but it's inevitable when you've got a backcourt player with firepower like Michael Redd.

Thu Aug 14, 2008 2:15 am

The Bucks are looking to acquire Luke Ridnour in a three-way trade that would send Maurice Williams to Cleveland, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

Wow....i know Mo makes a lot of money, and we need a pass first PG, but it seems like if we exchange Mo for Luke we lose that trade.

PS. The bucks are also going to sign Francisco Elson, which isnt too bad of a move.

Fri Aug 15, 2008 3:09 am

Im guessing everybody knows that the trade already happened but I was really looking for the same Bucks starting line-up as last season except with Jefferson at the 3. The only thing i like about this trade is that Sessions might get more minutes so he can perform like he did towards the end of last seaon.(Two near triple-doubles 20/8/24 and 25/7/14)

Fri Aug 15, 2008 3:31 pm

I expect he'll get a good opportunity. Ridnour and Lue are more experienced but I wouldn't expect either will have a iron clad hold on the starting point guard role or a bulk of the minutes. Then again, with the kind of rotations Scott Skiles uses all bets are off.

Thought I'd bump up the old thread.

Really bad news. At least Bogut is back, but catching that 8th seed will definitely be harder. :|

That really sucks for the Bucks.
As if they weren't underachieving already.

Yep, as z02 said, they aren't playing like last year. With Brandon out, it will be even harder for them. Brandon is also out on my Spurs.

Is Micheal Redd still injured or something?

Re: Official Milwaukee Bucks Thread

Sat Dec 25, 2010 4:15 am

Who?

Re: Official Milwaukee Bucks Thread

Sat Dec 25, 2010 4:24 am

That left-handed guy that has a shooting form like Ray Allen

Re: Official Milwaukee Bucks Thread

Sat Dec 25, 2010 8:01 am

Redd's still injured. Boykins/Dooling are playing really well so the team hasn't really noticed Jennings being gone so much, 2-1 against Lakers/Portland/Sacramento without him.

Re: Official Milwaukee Bucks Thread

Sat Dec 25, 2010 9:24 am

Redd was turrible last year and is probably done. Would rather have November-version John Salmons or Jerry Stackhouse than his corpse.

Re: Official Milwaukee Bucks Thread

Sat Dec 25, 2010 1:49 pm

It's sad but Redd pretty much done. i don't think he's got much left in the tank.

It''s funny you mention Ray allen because in one of my Live franchises Allen was traded for a pre-injury Redd.
