Official NLSC Holiday Thread

Sun Jul 13, 2008 10:05 am

Okay, I've done this last year but cannot find the thread.

So, the question is, where are you guys going (or went/planning to go for those in the Southern Hemisphere) on vacation?

My sisters wanted to go to Dubai this summer and I wanted to go to Mexico, so we decided that since last year's trip was lovely, we're heading back to the Canaries in August (8th through 24th). Different island, though. It's Fuerteventura this year, which is larger so there should be more beaches and overall much more to see.

I'll post pictures when I get back. So, what about you? Where are you guys going on holiday?

Damn, I was disappointed. I thought NLSC was going to create its own Holiday.

I am probably not going anywhere. My family seldom leaves town. I have only been to three states and Canada.

Was going to go to California, but its a bit expensive and I think I'll be lost out there. So my "vacation" will be to probably Boston and NJ to visit some friends, then head up to Toronto with a couple buddies to party a bit, then come back and get ready for last year of college.

Paris, France.

I don't want to go.

Mon Jul 14, 2008 6:36 am

^I've been to Paris with my ex in 2006. It was the most beautiful time of my life.

Anyways, in August I'm spending a week in Amsterdam with my buddy. Gonna blaze 24/7.

Mon Jul 14, 2008 1:22 pm

Pretty much everyone I know who's gone to Amsterdam has said something similar to that. It doesn't seem that many people under 30 are interested in anything else it has to offer.

Mon Jul 14, 2008 6:35 pm

I'm also a bit interested in the clubs, bars etc. But mostly the broccoli. Must be a good feeling to get stoned legally.

Mon Jul 14, 2008 8:04 pm

Be sure to check out the windmills and how they make cheese.

Mon Jul 14, 2008 8:28 pm

 I swear I'd never find that interesting except when I'm stoned. I could picture myself absolutely high being all amazed like "Whoa, that's incredible!".

After smoking lots of weed you could sit me next to a road and I'd watch the cars pass by for an hour and it'd feel like 5 minutes.

Mon Jul 14, 2008 8:31 pm

I was being sarcastic, just in case no one caught it.

Weed, cheese and windmills. Welcome to Holland.

Nah, nightlife in Amsterdam is pretty kickass, very varied due to the loads of tourists.

Mon Jul 14, 2008 8:42 pm

I caught the sarcasm.

And yeah, I'm really looking forward to the nightlife. Can't wait.

Everyone of them needs their president, good to hear you'll be there to fill the position.

I went to Amsterdam a few years ago, 2006 I think it was. The thing I was most amazed of was the quantity of half naked/topless chicks walking down the streets after midnight. I counted more than thirty including in pubs, coffee shops and other places.

Amsterdam was quite a creepy place. Went there cuz it only takes about 3 hours from the North of France where I used to study. Got completely baked obviously, so it was kind of a surreal experience, it felt like the city was just full of walking zombies and whores. Strange place...

As promised, here are the photos of my vacation in Fuerteventura. I swear, the Canaries are the most beautiful place on Earth, I can't wait to head back there next year.

When you said "Canaries" I was hoping it was code for hot chicks. Then I thought of how good my luck is and figured you were talking about birds.

I click on the picture and find out Fuerteventura is located in the Canary Islands. Don't you just yearn to be me?

Lack of sleep, I'll pass my dumbness off as lack of sleep. :shifty:

 After all it's 1.30 AM, right?
