More PC screenies (56k beware)

Postby Hoozah on Wed Nov 12, 2003 1:37 pm

FedEx was kind enough to drop off my copy late this afternoon. Live2004 is more polished and refined than last years version, In fact, I'll go as far as saying this version of Live is EA's best hoop offering.

As far as graphics go, without a doubt, that honor goes to the PC version of Live. Live on the xbox is good (I know, I have it also), but is no where near as detailed, sharp and all-around better looking as the PC version. With everything MAXED and resolutions at 1280x1024, there really isn't much to complain about.

Gameplay is identical to its' console breathen, with one noticeable difference-----the lack of slowdown during transitional play. In the xbox version, there was slowdown when the camera would pan around during gameplay transition (ie..ball being stolen, blocked, etc..). I'm happy to report that the PC version eliminates that problem! Granted you'll need some horses inside your rig to play Live2004 in all its glory! If you''re going to upgrade, Live is one hell of an excuse to do so!

Here are some screenies to tide you over:

That Kobe cyberface badly needs a plastic surgery. Anyway, patchers would do the job.

thanks man! Great screens--does this game support a higher resolution? It seems everyone is playing on the 1280x1024 resolution? Where did you order your game from? I'm glad the lag isn't there in this game! I too have the x box--and while it didn't effect the gameplay too much--it was annoying.

Coco-

The game only goes as high as 1280x1024; luckily the game looks abosolutely gorgous even on that resolution. I ordered mine from EBgames (as I do every year..for all EA sports game) and paid Overnight Priority...grand total for game+shipping? Only $48.00 total...not bad eh? :D

LOL i meant "thumbs" as in "thumbnails." So the pic is like 50% but you can click on it. That way we don't have to scroll over to see the whole pic.

These pictures are gorgeous. Thank you for posting them. I can't wait till I get my copy -- whenever they come into Canada. I have a P4 1.8 gHz 80 GB and 512 MB RDRAM with a nVidia GeForce 3 Ti2000. I hope I can run the game well at 800x600 resolution with almost everything at full.

LOL

There are alot of those anamolies where players would be calling for the ball but looking the other way, or players raising their arms up in a defensive stance but not guarding anyone... luckily, I only notice those annoyances when I go into instant replay or take snapshots. I hardly ever really notice it during actual gameplay

My specs are:
P4 2.8
1 Gig/Ram
Radeon 9800 Pro
WinXP

Damn no wonder you're playing at 1280x1024. What happens when you turn on AA and AF? Do you know what kinda framerates you get? (ie. with fraps or with a console command?)

Actually, I have AA and AF turned on by default (4x and 8x respectively). I haven't gauged my FPS yet, but if I were to guess, I would place it between 35-60 FPS.

Look at the 'Yao over Shaq' pic and Yao's foot... Shaq should be out 3-6 months

Very nice screens though, can't wait to try the game myself.

I do agree about the thumbnails though, or maybe don't overuse the img-tags and instead link to the pics (or create your own thumbs, please).
