I control the Blazers
I control the Lakers And Pacers in the Videos. You don't see no pg domination from the Celtics do you? lol
These are reductions from the original player ratings.

Also make sure you do this
GAME SPEED: -10, from the very top.
-This will make your computer teammates sprint, the lower you have
it, the more the player job instead of sprint. That's why I turned the
acceleration down, to make the running more realistic
FATIGUE: -15 from the top
Your gonna have to do this for every player for every team. Takes a lot of work, but the end results are much better than the game out of the box. Any questions just ask me. The ones in bold are the ones I feel are needed to be tweaked
Yeah, at the very TOP they have a setting where you can change the attributes rating line for each player instead of changing every player, each time. It's easier. It's a universal editor for each line. I most likely wouldn't have done this if I have to go through each player lol
I mean +X or -X from the original roster PLAYER ratings. So if LeBron's 3pt fg for example is 50 at the default rating, and I say -10. You'd go -10 from the 50, of the 3pt fg rating.
Don't put everything up, then -X For player ratings you only do that for the speed of the game and the fatigue

I control the Lakers in both Videos.
The first video did not have the Lakers. Maybe it was the wrong video, because I saw the cpu point guard take many shots. There isn't much that can be done by a user to improve design flaws. The cpu plays are rarely run smoothly, but in steps where the ai is often waiting for the next step instead of transitioning smoothly, like 2k does.
Either way, keep going. I'll try your tweaks. Everytime I play Live the pg decides to take it upon himself. Maybe it has something to do with the plays not being run smoothly so the AI tells them to drive or take a shot.

I meant Lakers and Pacers. . . My Bad
If you watch the Celtics and Lakers videos, you'll notice the balance and ball movement from the Celtics (CPU). Ray Allen does take a lot of shot, but I've noticed, it's not like that the whole game. At the end, the Big 3 gets their numbers

yea these videos look good. way better than any other Live videos i've seen (gameplay wise) cant wait to see the tweaks.

I'll try to get them up by tomorrow night

I had to double check and make sure it was Live 08
It still shows a few flaws in the gameplay but overall those are some damn good looking videos of the actual gameplay. Some very impressive work indeed which makes me wonder if individual guys like TheLiveKing can get this game moving and playing after months of tweaking by himself.
I've always said if only EA would just lock 2-3 guys in a room for like 30 days before the game is released. Their job would be to tweak the hell out of the game for those 30 days and give us some gameplay right out of the box similiar to what these videos have produced.

Ok, let's make sure we are on the same page. To follow the above, I go into Roster Management and for each and every player on each and every roster, I make the above changes to their settings, correct?
When you say "-X from the top" you mean from the highest setting from that player attribute, come down X settings, correct?
About how long did it take you to change all rosters? I think I may try this w/two teams in the Play Now mode and see how I like it.
Thanks.

Are you serious? Zero speed, quickness and agility for all teams and players?
EDIT - I tried it. Damon Jones took 7 shots in the first quarter to Lebron's 2.
Wed Jun 18, 2008 12:25 pm
Yeah, I played Cleveland too, LeBron only had 6 points lol. The solution, is turn up the GOTO rating for LeBron and have him a bit more higher than everyone else on the team
Fri Jun 20, 2008 4:55 am
I played Cleveland again with tweaked GOTO ratings and Here's the results of the game. I was the Blazers
Points By Quarter
PLAYER (ME) STATS:
CPU STATS:
Player Of The Game:
The only thing I forgot to do was put Daniel Gibson in the starting line up.
If y'all have any questions, feel free to ask, cause I would like to know if you are getting the same results as me. You should, but sometimes it never goes that way.

How and where are you doing this editing?
Fri Jun 20, 2008 6:42 am
In the Roster management, you go to edit rosters. and everything is right there

ThaLiveKing wrote:In the Roster management, you go to edit rosters. and everything is right there
Under Roster Management, I have the following:
Create Player
Edit Player
Reorder Roster
Trade Players
Sign/Release Players
Reset Rosters
Player Hot Spots
ESPN Stats Central.
Nothing else.

What platform are you playing it on? I'm on the 360

Ahh, that explains a lot; like why your graphics are so real looking and how you are able to edit the roster.
I'm using a PC.
Fri Jun 20, 2008 1:19 pm
lol. I forget sometimes you have to be VERY specific on this board. It's all good tho
Sat Jun 21, 2008 2:25 am
The 360 graphics look great; I'm so envious.
I am working w/PS2 and PC, which, in comparison look like Coleco. If I wasn't so f@ckin cheap, and the the damn things weren't so expensive, I'd breakdown and buy a console.
Also, I notice that most of the time down the court you run an Iso or a Post-Up- is that true? If so, do you think that is one reason your game play looks so realistic?
Sat Jun 21, 2008 2:41 am
Heh I thought this was PC until I watched the videos (and you changed the title).
Sat Jun 21, 2008 2:45 am
Yeah, I think it's better that way, cause it creates spacing for you to operate. If the passing was much better, I think the game would be even better.
The computer runs a lot of set plays from the top, but they hold onto the ball too long, which I find annoying, I like getting into my offense faster. THat's why you see a lot of jumpshots

Right, and 9 times out of ten the result is a screen setting up a pass down on the blocks or a 10 ft jumper strong side jumper.
Tue Jun 24, 2008 11:39 am
the main problem im havin with these is the Computer seems to eat up the entire shot clock every possession which is causing both teams to not get near the amount of FGA's that is realistic.
Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:06 pm
U have to turn up the shooting mentality and the off ball awareness. And the aggressiveness. lol
Wed Jun 25, 2008 4:52 am
for a player like Arenas, Iverson (pgs who obviously jack up tons of shots)
what would be the appropriate go to guy, aggressiveness and shooting mentality ratings?
