I doubt it. As I understand it there was some speculation since an early fact sheet advertised a release on "all platforms" but presumably this still refers to multiple consoles. Mind you, I don't follow the 2K series and I have no inside info on that whatsoever so take it with a grain of salt. A PC release doesn't seem to be in Take-Two's MO though.

I don't see why they would...they are in business to make money..not fan service.

PC games make money. Plenty of it. You just have to realize you can't rape your customers and expect them to take it.

I wasn't questioning the pc market's ability to generate revenue...I was questioning the PC sports market. If it was lucrative then we'd have something other than Tiger woods comming out. I remember a time when we had multiple choices for nba gaming on the pc.

If 2Ksports could easily port the 360 version to the PC, I'm sure they would. Porting games from a console seems to be alot more work then we might think. When games come out for multiple consoles and PC, they are usually developed simultaneously. Even then, look at Assassin's Creed and GTA IV. Their PC releases are much later then the console versions.

I remember reading that Take-Two conducted a survey that asked if players would be willing to upgrade their PCs for a 360 port and the results weren't too positive. Perhaps that remains one of their concerns and is one of the "business challenges" EA is referring to when they decided to go console-only for NBA Live 09 as well.

I don't think they consider the people who have systems good enough to play Live but don't buy it because it looks 5 years old. You can find posts in our forum of people upgrading their computers so they can play the more recent versions.

Andrew, as you, I don't follow, neither play 2k series, though it would probably be better than my Live 07.

True. Moving forward, I don't think outdated hardware would be as much of an issue. At some point PC gamers are going to update their rigs to meet the average requirements.

Most of us do. You fail to see the point, as usual. having 2K9 on PC would be great for both the people with only PC's, as well as the modding and dynasty community.

There wouldn't be many patches since the file formats would be new and in need of cracking. Oh no, we would actually have to enjoy the game like the old days.

Gamestop got back to me and said the item details on the site come direct from the manufacturer and they don't guarantee the availability of any pre-order product. To me it sounds like the "Multi-platform" thing we read a while ago from Take Two and gamestop is confused.

There's times when they aren't?

Well, but, why didn't Gamestop, EB Games , Gamespot, Allgame.com , Gamerankings.com add WII and PSP versions into their websites ? WII and PSP are also multiple platforms for the company.

Anyways, there are some great patches coming to Live. Live is the first choice for me right now. Did you see the latest court patch form next-gen ? Yeaaaaaaa. Gameplay is also improving.

Go to 2k sports page: http://2ksports.com/games/nba2k9/
Do you see something about a PC release? so, you have found the answer: there won't be nba 2k9 for PC

If 2ksports doesn't have it listed, then it probably isn't being released. However, more and more sites are listing it for the PC.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6832262073
http://www.samgoody.com/NBA-2K9--IBM-PC ... ewprod.htm
http://www.superduperclub.net/pcs-tk2-31504.html

The other NBA 2K9 versions on newegg are listed with 2ksports, but the one for PC is listed with Take 2 Interactive. I'm not sure if that is relevant at all.

I decided to look for anything new about it, and someone posted at gamespot that 2k confirmed it is not coming to the PC. Since I sent two emails, one to customer service and one to public relations, I'm can't say if this person is telling the truth or not.
