online game problem

I PLAY WITH MY FRIEND ONLINE NBA WE CONNECTED AND THEN WHEN START THE GAME AFTER 4 OR 5 SECONDS I DISCONNECT FOR THE GAME AND THE TELL ME TO CONTINUE WITH CPU OR QUIT THE GAME.WHY I DISCONNECTED FROM THE GAME(MY FRIEND HAS WINDOWS VISTA AND I WINDOWS XP.IS THAT A PROBLEM?)PLEASE HELP

Please don't post in all caps, it represents shouting.
It's possible that either your friend's security settings or your own (or both) are interfering with the connection, particularly if you've got third party security packages such as Norton or Trend Micro which have a tendency to be too vigilant in their protection. I would recommend disabling those programs and trying again to see if they're at fault.

he is my friend and it always crash us out can you explain us what do we have to do?

do you use the slider patch? if yes this slider patch causes problems under windows vista!
if one of you has sig shots installed and the other one not, then it crashes too.
dont ask me details, for the second problem. i just now ist because i have an oline league without them and members who play elsewhere have to overwrite special folders each time they play in the other league with sig shots
