No matter what happens though, I still love Noob-Saibot's name. (Sub's brother.)

MK Trilogy Noob Saibot was the cheesiest fighter, IMO, with the Disabler. You had to be ready to jam block all the time.

Especially since he had one of the easiest combos (Low Kick four times in a row) in that game.

lol gotta love Liu Kang's MK arcade fatality.

Some people weren't so good at pulling off the difficult moves okay.

So shut it. :x

Best way to stop MKT Noob's nonsene is with Jade. When you sense the Disabler coming, do Jade's Invincible and hit Noob with the 7-hitter. My friends learned not to abuse the Disabler real quick. Nightwolf's Reflect can work, but it leaves you stuck for a second.

Another strategy is unleash combo after combo on Noob, and forcing him to block. Sheeva's great for this. Her 7-hitter causes 45% damage(I think), so if your opponent lets go, it's all over. Rain has some wicked combos too.

The CPU was pretty good at doing that too, Jade was deadly in the AI's hands.

Yes, she was my worst enemy. She has always beaten me. Because of her, i've never finish the MKT.

Voted for II.

Though, I agree with Jackal: Killer Instinct ruled.

Midway Unveils Mortal Kombat® Vs. DC Universe

Thu Apr 24, 2008 10:19 am

CHICAGO - April 18 , 2008 – Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading interactive entertainment software publisher and developer, today announced Mortal Kombat® vs. DC Universe, licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. When a cataclysmic force merges conquerors from two universes, conflict is inevitable. Kombat forces friends to fight, worlds to collide, and unlikely alliances to be forged. In order to save all they know, the heroes and villains of Mortal Kombat must wage war against the combined might of the DC Universe (DCU). How can either side prevail when rage blinds them to the dark threat poised to destroy them all

sounds similar to the EA "Friends or foes" game or whatever they did some time ago. anybody play that game? Also, it might go the way of the Marvel Vs. Capcom series. who knows.

so will we be seeing fatalities on Superman? tiiiiiiight. I'd like to see Superman get beheaded.

EDIT:
at http://www.worldscollide.com/ the freefall fighting looks alright.

Read somewhere that Superman's not a DC character.

Thu Apr 24, 2008 11:43 am

Official site of DC Comics, the comic book publisher of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Watchmen, and many others.

I would imagine that Superman, Batman, Sub Zero & Scorpion are the first locks to be in the game.

I saw that the other day. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the idea, especially if it compromises the traditional elements of Mortal Kombat. I don't think MK's canon should include these events but from what I read that will be the case.

That's why I have little interest in this game.

Fri Apr 25, 2008 8:48 am

I thought you might have had a bit more interest in it actually, being a comic buff. It does feel out of place though, something that might be fine as a spinoff game but not very appropriate for the MK canon.

my problem with this crossover is, there is no way to balance it without completly nerfing some characters and over powering others. to balance it you eithe rhave to bring everyone up to supermans level or drop him to thiers.

Fri Apr 25, 2008 12:02 pm

that was a big issue with Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. The Street Fighter characters were noticably weaker while guys like Cable, Cyclops, & Ironman that shoot beams were much stronger.

Mon Apr 28, 2008 12:08 pm

I imagine they'll have to tone down the violence somewhat as well, so it's probably going to be awfully "kiddie" compared to the rest of the series.

Mon Apr 28, 2008 4:46 pm

As a comic book and Mortal Kombat fan, this doesn't feel right. :|

Tue Apr 29, 2008 9:12 am

Having said all that though, being a fan of the series I'll download a demo if one is released and quite possibly buy the game once it's released. Perhaps it will be fun, even if the story is awful.

Tue Apr 29, 2008 11:16 am

So to balance the thing, Fatalities will be matched with -- Superhero superpower finishers?

Maybe an MK vs. Street Fighter game would be cool. Or Marvel vs. DC, just to make things right.

Tue Apr 29, 2008 7:19 pm

I read there won't be any fatalities. Kind of to protect the superhero characters.

MK without fatalities, people must be jumping outta their seat to play this. :?

Tue Apr 29, 2008 8:40 pm

I think that just about guarantees it will be the weakest game in the series.

Jackal wrote:I read there won't be any fatalities. Kind of to protect the superhero characters.

DC won't let them kill off superheroes, plus they're shooting for a T rating.

I wouldn't worry about the canon. Final Crisis, or the one after it, will make sure it never happened.

Wed Apr 30, 2008 10:42 am

Reading this interview with Ed Boon, it seems like the most promising aspect of the game is that it might not end up being canon. I can understand wanting to try new things and be unexpected as he puts it, but why remove aspects that are popular and working well, just for the sake of being "new"? Seems like a change for the sake of change and to dust off a tired cliche, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
