Help needed

Sun Apr 20, 2008 1:43 am

I have two questions:
1) Why do created players disappear when I exit the game?
2) Can I add a picture to the created player, cause it sucks when I create Petrovic and Jordan and they don't have a pic
Thx

You need to save the roster once you create a player. If you did save the roster, just load it once you start the game.

There is a stickied portrait tutorial here.

What about the pictures of the created players? Can I add them?

Yes, you can add portraits to created players without assigning them a cyberface as well (thus retaining their created appearance).

And how do I do that btw?
I tried the tutorial above but it didn't help me...

Once you have a custom portrait file, it needs to be placed in the sgsm folder. It's name will include a seven letter abbreviation of the player's name (eg Kobe Bryant becomes KOBRYAN). To give a custom portrait to a created player, you need to edit players.dbf with DB Commander.
  1. Open players.dbf using DB Commander.
  2. Go to the record for your created player; it should be at or near the bottom of the database.
  3. Scroll across to the right until you find a field called PLAYERPKG.
  4. Enter the seven letter abbreviation that corresponds with the portrait file in this field. When you're done, press the Up arrow key to move to another cell in the database.
  5. Close DB Commander.
  6. Run NBA Live 08. Load the saved roster you just edited

Note that players whose surnames have fewer than five letters will use underscores to fill out the remaining spaces for letters, eg Grant Hill becomes GRHILL_, Sean May becomes SEMAY__.
