I had enough....I´ll get a ps3 or xbox 360 and get a copy of nba 2k8....damn!....after so many years of playing nba live, f*ck!........

I can't wait for nba live 09 since there won't be any nba 2k9 no more.....

why don't ea sports bring in some more people to create nba live and madden for the pc they have allot of money don't they

tsk, tsk, tsk..calm down people..Maybe EA did not give up.Perhaps they're planning a reengineered NBA Live 2010 or NBA Live X or whatsoever..2 years would be good for waiting if they'll release a new great NBA Live for 2010 or beyond...

best thing that can happen could be like in 02 when there was gap year and then we got better game the PS2/ xbox port. Lets hope that there will be a NBA LIVE X in Fall of 2009 for the PC That would be a port of the 360/ PS3

What the fuck are you talking about... Its with the break at 2002 game when things all started to go to hell for the PC.

It's not like we then got the better version that was designed for the PS2 or XBox... It was a worse version of the game!

Prior to Live 2002, the game was primarily designed for the PC!!! Before that we got the PC game and it was ported to the consoles of the time. But during production of the 2001 game, EA fired the PC oriented crew and got some console people in there to design the game primarily for the consoles! Now that sucked balls big time. (No offense Tim, if you're reading this) And this is why the 2002 version missed the PC release. They were busy learning to make the game for the consoles.

And we haven't had a great PC game since. The UI went to hell and everything else with it. They have primarily fixed one thing and broken down 3 others in the process of the PC game. That's what we have gotten.

If we finally get a port of the current gen machines for the PC, the break year is ok in my books. It's a frikkin bussiness, but I don't get why this wasn't done in the first place... Why create two widely different games since you could do only one and forget the previous console platforms and the fact that the PC will always catch up and leave consoles eating dust in the end... But I guess it wasn't a sound bussiness plan at the time.

I'm missing the times when we got a PC game for the PC! And not some half-assed port from an inferior console with lame make-shift controls...

If Live 09 was another old game port from PS2 etc. I wouldn't have bought it. I just hope that we finally get a game up to standards that doesn't look like it's been around since 2002!!! Damn it.

It's hard to ask a company doing anything revolutionary in 365 days.

this is just what i have expected from that company.
just remember what they have done in the past:
they didnt consider the fansite-suggestions. year after year.
they didnt develop next pen for pc out of economic aspects.
they kept every version unperfect, although feedback was always there.

the last game i bought from that company was bf2 years ago.

PC gaming is slowly dying out. Unless everyone upgrades to dual core computers, I don't think anyone would want to make games that will run on slow computers.

Maybe it is true, that pc as a gaming platform is fading away. But, I would say it is not about pc, it is just about politics and money. I don’t believe that some xbox360/ps3 could show better performance than directX10 video card and dual core processor. Should we say anything about quad-core processors and sli mod...?

Many new computers can handle next gen games, but how many gamers have high end rigs? I am guessing a small amount, the average gamer does not own a gaming rig and companies such as EA sports are not going to make games for the average gamer and let the gamers with high end PCs suffer.

F%%K EA's and F%%K there policy and F%%K the way they are treating the PC gamers with year after year. my only question is what are they going to do with the PS2 platform are they going to release LIVE 09 for it or it will be developed only for the PS3 and XBOX360.

I understand you, and yes, you are right, we are talking about small numbers. But, somehow, it is just a good strategy, I think. First, they made consoles, and now, they are making games for consoles. They have to find a way to force you to buy their product. It’s the same situation with video cards, although average gamer can’t afford such high-end hardware, we still have games like Crysis. I have no idea how much they can earn with this game, but if we want to play this game, we need to buy good computer. I think we are forced by this move to buy better hardware, just like we are forced by EA to buy consoles... as long as we want to buy... I am not sure, they think about average gamer at all. I believe there are some pointers/indicators about our potentiality to upgrade they are looking at...
And please, wisdom kid, don’t get me wrong, I am just thinking about this situation and sharing ideas with you (community). I would like to see your (and other) comment.

really sad news indeed. actually have a ps3 and both live 08 and 2k8 but i really prefer PLAYING live 08 in the pc cause here, i could really change everything. the GAMEPLAY, uniforms, courts, etc unlike in my console where as others have said have limited updates.

this really sucks but still hoping something good comes out from this.
