Road trip update.
06/11/07 - Hornets (91) - Lakers (100)
Kobe Bryant brilliant - hands Hornets first defeat.

LA, STAPLES -- Kobe Bryant had a monster double-double with 32 points and a
career-high-tying 15 assists and Pau Gasol added 22 and 11 boards to hand the
Hornets their first loss of the season. The Lakers were 1-2 before the game, the
Hornets are now 3-1.
David West scored a season-low 15 points and Chris Paul had only 4 assists.
The Hornets were outrebounded 47-36 and had 21 fouls, compared to just 11 by
the Lakers.
The Hornets will visit the Rose Garden next, where they'll take on the Blazers,
led by Greg Oden and a healthy Brandon Roy.
07/11/07 - Hornets (111) - Blazers (104)West big, Hornets back on winning track.
PORTLAND, RG -- When Chris Paul fouled out with 4.22 to go, David West knew, the
team was depending on him. And he did his part. He had 11 points in the fourth,
8 in the final 3 minutes and led the Paul-less Hornets to a 111-104 road victory
over the Blazers.
Hornets scored a season high 42 points in the fourth, 10 from the stripe. In fact,
the Hornets shot 61% from the field in the fourth. The Blazers sot "only" 56%.
It was a battle between two of the youngest teams in the league. With West,
Peja and Wells on the bench, Wright, Carney and Young help to carry the team,
keeping them in the game.
When West and chandler subbed back in, alongside Young, James and Wright
the Hornets when on a 13-0 run, and finishing the game with a 20-10 scoring
affair.
1st overall pick Greg Oden scored 18 points and pulled down a season high 16
boards. He had some other goodies too, with 6 assists and 4 blocks.
The Hornets will now fly back home to New Orleans, where after a day off they'll
face the defending champs - the San Antonio Spurs.

Nice recaps there -km-, if possible if you could do longer recaps that would make it more awesome, but its still nice as is, keep up the good work

Great recaps, -km-! I actually love the length of the recaps; They are well-written and get to the point. And with the boxscores; all the info is there. Keep it up!

09/11/07 - Hornets (92) - Spurs (84)
Paul near Triple-Double, Hornets beat Spurs.

NEW ORLEANS -- Chris Paul scored 28 through 3 quarters, but displayed his
MVP mention with other goodies. He only scored 2 points in the 4th - from the
stripe, but had 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals in the final frame,
carrying the Hornets over the visiting Spurs.
Manu Ginobili kept the Spurs in it, scoring 9 in the final frame. Tim Duncan
was good as usual, with 24 points and 15 boards. He added 3 blocks and
two steals, not committing a foul doing that. Michael Finley had 12 and
Tony Parker added 18 and 8 assists.
The bench scoring was just awful this game by both teams. 7-6 in favor of
the Spurs. They're bench shot 3-9 FG and 0-2 FT, The Hornets, whose
bench had much more minutes, 3-16 FG and had 0 foul shots.
Tyson Chandler saw limited action due to a sore right knee, which gave
Chris Andersen a shot. He had 0 points, 2 blocks and 4 boards in 23
minutes.
The Spurs as a team had 13 blocks, "Big Shot" Rob had 5 of those. The
Hornets on the other hand had 13 steals.
11/11/07 - Hornets (91) - Sixers (79)West shines in easy win over the Sixers.
PHILLY -- Managing to secure a 12 point lead by half-time, the Hornets
just kept on rolling in to the fourth and final frame, achieving a 18 point
lead. The Hornets were up against former team-mates Morris Peterson,
who was starting and Rasual Butler, who didn't see action.
Starters saw limited action in the last frame, which the Hornets lost 22-16,
which brought the second unit in, what Byron Scott calls "The Young
Squad." It wasn't really effective, failing to score in a 2 and a half minute
span. But they played great defense. Paul and West came back in, but
both didn't score anymore. The Sixers actally ended the game with a 8-0
run.
The Hornets will now fly to New Jersey, where they'll face Vince Carter,
Devin Harris and the rest of the Nets, who are expected to play with full
depth, no injuries in their roster so far this season.

Your team is doing great! And lovin’ the recaps man!

I just played the Nets and went to play the Sixers, and of course, the game crashed. So the update will be a little delayed. I specially chose old retro jerseys, the ones in 1x and i have the courts in 1x too. Don't understand EA. Can it really be the CF's?

12/11/07 - Hornets (96) -Nets (76)
Complete team effort raises Hornets over Nets.

PHILLY -- Chris Paul scored only 11 points, but handed out 13 assists in
a cruise over the hometown Nets. David West led the Hornets with 24,
Thaddeus Young and Rodney Carney combined for 23 off the bench.
The Hornets, up by double-digits in the third, Carney, Young, Wright and
Pargo saw more action, a combined 42 minutes. Young and Carney were
really contributive. Young added a career-high 11 boards. Carney added
the little thing, like a block, a steal, two boards and just as many dimes.
Devin Harris led the Mavs with 22, Vince Carter added 18. Newly acquired
post-players Swift and Diop combined for 21 rebounds and four blocks in
the defeat.
14/11/07 - Hornets (99) - Sixers (76)Chandler shines in a big win at home.
PHILLY -- Tyson Chandler, not really effective to start the 07/08 campaign,
had a monster game at home. He only scored 10 points, but he topped
that off with 17 boards, 5 blocks, 3 steals and 3 assists. He only had a
board in the final frame, so he was dominating against Dalembert
throughout the game.
David West, once again, led the team in scoring with a decent 20, adding 6
boards to that. Teams MVP Chris Paul had his third double-double in four
games with 13 points and 11 assists.
Andre Iguodala led the Sixers with 27 points, 8 dimes and 6 boards with a
couple of blocks. Andre Miller had 24 points on 25 shots. Samuel
Dalembert had an off night, shooting 1-7 with 5 turnovers. Chandler
played great defense on him. He did manage to pull down 13 boards, 5 off
the offensive glass.

Wed Apr 09, 2008 6:04 am
I smell.. Finals potential?
lol, We'll see.. the West is tough.
Great recaps as always, and good luck!
Wed Apr 09, 2008 6:06 am
Paul is doing good and bad for you at the same time, 3 double doubles in 4 games is good, but 37.1% shooting isn't. Anyways nice wins, keep it up

16/11/07 - Hornets (89) - Grizzlies (87); 17/11/07 - Hornets (104) - Timberwolves (94)
MO-PETE TRADE
A lot of people are basketball fans, and they're just like, "Oh, Houston gets Bobby Jackson,"
or "Oh, Peterson goes to Philly." What people don't realize is that, we are basketball players,
but we're also human beings, and we have wives and kids. It's a huge adjustment. Families
have to move. There's also relationships that you've created in a city. It was a pretty big
shock to me, when i heard about Peterson being traded. He had some problems with Bonzi,
who has been great these games for us, but he's better, when he comes off the bench. So Coach
Scott had just moved Thaddeus to the starting line-up, which i think he really deserves. He's
a young funny guy, who always cracks me up in practice. I think he'll have a great future with
us in this organization.
BATTLES ON THE ROAD
With a great start like we've had, we really underestimated the Grizzlies. Sure, they don't have
Gasol any more, but Gay was one of the greatest young players in this league. Mike Conley Jr.
killed us in that fourth quarter. I believe he knocked down all his triples in that last frame.
I really felt i wasn't contributing - i wasn't able to put the ball in the basket and defend. But i was
proud of myself, that i didn't get in to foul trouble. Our short line-up was in the game for the final
minutes, so i was on the bench. when we were up by a point, and CP3 went to the line, we
were curtain, he will knock down both. To all our surprise, he missed the first. He made the
second and a time-out was called. Luckily, Rudy missed a triple at the buzzer.
We were more ready and didn't underestimate the Wolves. I think i had a good game defensively.
Our biggest concern was Jefferson. But he got only 12 points. I was scoreless, so that kinda
sucked. Rodney carried us. He played all throughout the last frame and had like 15 points in
that. He's another great young player, who we received in the Peteron trade. The final score
was settling for us We're doing great, going 10-1 to start.
I'll have my hand full in two days. Dwight will be visiting us with his Orlando. So I'll take
my day off and have a hard workout tomorrow with my personal coach. Dwight leads the
league in rebounding, so I'll have to box him out. He shorter, but more athletic. I'll probably
be in foul trouble, but i sure hope i won't. Most of the team will be counting on me. I don't wanna
let them down.
THE BIRDMAN
I knew of Chris Andersen just from playing against him, but I didn't know him that well as a
person. It's a tough situation for him. I really feel for him, because he's coming back into a
situation where we've really established ourselves as a team. I'm pretty sure he had high
hopes of coming back, and you know he's been out for two years and he's been biting at the
bit to get back on the court. I'm pretty sure he felt like he was gonna come in and play,
and be able to hop into the rotation, but it's not seeming that way. So, I feel for him a lot,
because he made a mistake (we all make mistakes) and he was punished for it.
I'm just really hoping that it turns around for him.
We haven't had any conversations as a team about it. We heard he was coming back, the
organization had a press conference, and that was that. He just started practicing with us.
There was really nothing addressed with the team. So, it's a little awkward. We've been
at home and everybody does their own thing, and we've yet to have
that team function
to break him in a little bit. I just hope that awkwardness dies down, because I really like
him as a person.
