The episode this week is very underwhelming...other than butters as a squirrel...not that funny

Fri Mar 21, 2008 3:09 pm

But homages/references to The Lottery are always great.

Fri Mar 21, 2008 7:32 pm

It was alright, a bit of shock value humour to begin with then it lost a bit of steam. I appreciate the references having read up on them a bit after watching the episode but still, just alright. Perhaps a bit wasted on me given my ignorance.

Last nights episode maybe still not one of their bests but i was pretty freaking amused. Almost enough to go rent the movie Heavy Metal now...

Sat Mar 29, 2008 8:07 am

In tribute someone posted the entire Heavy Metal video on Youtube. 10 parts :|

Good episode , better than the last 2 at least

Sat Mar 29, 2008 9:29 am

These first three episodes have been absolutely gold. I don't get how some of you are complaining.

Probably the best animation of any episode in the entire series. It was a bit heavy handed with the message and the Anne Frank parody was pretty obvious from the moment it was revealed to Cartman missing the parallel but it all worked. The trips/Heavy Metal tributes were definitely the highlight.

I don't think they turn everything in to a knockoff on movies. They are always making fun of some sort of entertainment or peoples social habits, but I think they keep it original. None of the episodes of this season have felt like movie satires to me.

Sun Mar 30, 2008 1:57 pm

The second episode was "The Lottery." Not a movie...but still...better than most movies. With that one, and the latest episode, two of three have been homages.

Sun Mar 30, 2008 2:01 pm

Certain sequences parody movies or other works, especially the "trip" scenes in the last episode but it's generally mixed in with some other form of social commentary and an original story so I don't find it intrusive.

Latest ep is imo the best of this season so far and the best in a while...all about canada and "you toob". Yes they have been to canada as their theme before but this one definitly stands out...lol. I can imagine what a proud canadian would say after viewing this ep.

"I'm not your friend, guy...don't call me guy, buddy....i'm not your buddy, friend...."

I thought so too, the WGA Strike and YouTube references were great. Calling the fictional union the World Canadian Bureau but still keeping the WGA initials was hilarious in its silliness, underlining that they weren't trying to be subtle with the parody. Fun stuff with the "I'm not your friend" schtick and Kyle's extremely eloquent summary in the "I've learned something today" routine, not to mention another spot on Family Guy parody.

I found this episode to be the 2nd best of the season so far i'd say. The AIDS one still tops it but this was pretty good. "Canadians by not working lost 10.4 million dollars while on strike. The total worth of the bubble gum and Bennigans certificates is...3000 and 8 dollars"

Awesome

and of course they always have to make canadians sing for some reason

Fri Apr 04, 2008 10:24 am

I loved last week's episode but this one was definitely one step above. The famous Internet videos parody was just hilarious, especially the fat singing guy and the dramatic beaver...

This week's episode will be titled "Eek, A Penis!" and the synopsis is as follows:

While Ms. Garrison is off trying to find a way to become the man he was always intended to be, Cartman is put in charge of the classroom.

Perhaps another change is coming for Mr/Mrs Garrison? Cartman being in charge of the class should have some good moments, though it will probably centre around a predictable Kyle protest followed by a battle of wits with Cartman.

A certain someone is bored by searching for synopsis of upcoming episodes of three different series.

Just thought I'd bring them up and offer some brief thoughts on them seeing as though I was looking up the airdates for the next episodes and took a peek at the previews.

im looking for the pregnant man joke this week from south park....

Tue Apr 08, 2008 7:17 am

The pregnant "man" is half-Filipino. Fuck.
Just read in the papers.

Tue Apr 08, 2008 9:49 am

Would you rather have him or the man fucking his own daughter?

Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:13 am

Good question. In terms of knowing or "being friends" I guess the pregnant man but still dependent on his pesonality as a person.

But as a general answer of the situation's occurence, neither.

There's an episode with potential right there.

Fri Apr 11, 2008 10:26 pm

Pretty funny but a little bit of overkill on all the jokes. Felt forced together (having an A and B story isnt something they usually do well at with few exceptions). However Butters' lines and Mr. Cartmanes were pretty funny...

Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:34 am

I thought this one was pretty weak compared to the previous episodes. I was expecting more from Cartman teaching high school kids, it didn't seem to have a bottomline or a conclusion in the end, except for Mr Garrison getting his penis back...
