The Mayweather match was dissapointing.
I expected better.. But oh well.
Flair and HBK, that was truly just great to watch.
Especially the end, it was really emotional.
Randy Orton retaining? :O Didn't expect it..
BunnyMania, such a pleasure. Snoop Dogg macking Maria.. haha :P
RAW was pretty good aswell. Flair's goodbye was really touching.
But there is one thing that made me really happy about RAW...

CRYME TYME IS BACK! :)

What I don't get is why WWE released them, and then brought them back?

Wed Apr 02, 2008 9:00 am

I believe because they violated the wellness policy of the WWE.

They didn't violated the Wellness policy. They were released because they disobeyed what the Creative team instructed them to do. I think they attack the referee and it's not on the script so they got released.

That's what the WWE wants you to believe.

Didn't watch much of RAW, but turned to it again just in time to see Ric Flair coming to the ring for his tribute. Really good to see some of the older wrestlers there as well. You could see how much this whole business meant to Flair with him crying and all and for someone in his late fifty's to be getting flipped on his back and what not, he deserves all the credit he can get. That's what I read. Basically they performed their finisher on a referee after losing to Cade & Murdoch at a house show in a spot that wasn't planned or approved, leading to their release.

The Big Show/Mayweather match seems to be getting fairly positive reviews from the wrestling sites I visit, which is a bit surprising since the IWC tends to be pretty cynical and critical of gimmicky matches like that. If people enjoyed it though, more power to them. I wasn't a fan but to each their own.

I thought RAW was a strong show, Ric Flair's farewell was great. It doesn't look like Foxtel will be showing the Hall of Fame ceremony but I'll be getting the DVD when it comes out so I'm looking forward to seeing his entire induction speech.

I also saw that starting this weekend, FOX8 is going to start showing TNA Impact a few days after it airs in the States in addition to their WWE coverage. I'll probably check it out, just to see what all the fuss is about.

For someone who is such an enthusiastic poster Andrew, you sure do avoid discussions.

Ric Flair's farewell segment on RAW was pretty cool. I figure that when Triple H's music played when Ric was about to step down the ring was unexpected, well if it's still kayfabe it's still fit for Ric.

I think the mayweather thing was intended even from the beginning to be heel vs. heel...as per the attitude era.

The rock got alot of heat for his long winded and roast-esque speech at the hof ceremony. To me his speech was wonderful...I wish I could've seen the entire hour of it.

Flair and HBK are man-love friends IRL ...thats probably why they had the match together.

CRYME TYME....I wish i had a fucking sniper rifle...I would take these two stereotypes out in a fucking blink of an eye. I might sound like a hypocrit saying that but it's their fake thuggin bullshit what pisses me off.

But that's what Cryme Tyme is supposed to be, the gangsta and thug stereotype of a black man.

LOL. That's what makes it entertaining.
Don't you think so? The first time I saw them I was like.. WTF?
But yeah, their actually fun to watch. :P
Anyway, why did the WWE bring them back? (not that it matters)

Thu Apr 03, 2008 8:34 am

I remember there was actually a notice on WWE.com before Cryme Tyme first made their first appearancew on RAW, informing everyone that a new team that would be parodying/making fun of the stereotype was set to make their debut, so I'd say they're aware of the controversy surrounding the characters. As to why they're back, Shad alluded to fan support through chants and petitions and other wrestlers who vouched for them.

I remember when there was a time people who ran websites actually tried to continue discussions rather then ignore them like schoolgirls.

A clip after RAW went off the air last week during Ric Flair's farewell segment:

Hehe, that was awesome (Y)

Wed Apr 09, 2008 4:51 am

I saw that and it's great. (Y)

Wow, that was amazing. (Y)
Undertaker and Mr. McMahon in less than 5 minutes?
I doubt any wrestler will ever get that kind of respect when they retire.

Wed Apr 09, 2008 8:08 am

A very cool moment indeed. I've read that a new Ric Flair DVD is being made so I'm guessing that might be used, seeing as though the WWE cameras were still filming despite the show having finished.

Wed Apr 09, 2008 7:54 pm

seems like quite a lot of you guys liked Ric Flair....for whatever reason, I've just never liked his wrestling style or any of his characters....he was always the guy that I hated most, didn't matter who he was up against....

Why am I not suprised? I never liked Flair but I respect the hell out of him and his career.

Fatal Four Way on Backlash between Cena, Orton, HHH and JBL for the WWE Title. Sounds good. Probably Triple H's time to get it.

I'm more excitied about Batista and HBK's match, although I think the whole 'Did HBK do the right thing?' story is weird.

Thu Apr 10, 2008 9:21 am

I think they should of made it something better, like a 4 way ladder match or something.

Thu Apr 10, 2008 7:52 pm

Maybe they'll add another stipulation before the PPV just to give it that extra something, even if it's just No-DQ. It's been a while since they've done the elimination Fatal Four Way, perhaps they could go that way?

I'm wondering if they'll turn either of them heel through the course of the angle. Batista seemed to be getting the more negative reaction on Smackdown last week and again on RAW and even seemed to be getting booed a bit during the match with Umaga at Wrestlemania so he could be the one to turn.

Wed Apr 16, 2008 9:29 pm

wtf? Clinton one on one with Obama next Monday on RAW?
