Unusual Crash

Sat Mar 22, 2008 1:06 pm

Give a little background first. I reformatted my vista and did want to save my dynasty so I copied the save folder and then put it back where it used to be after the reformat and reinstallation of the game.

Now, when I play my dynasty and I call a time-out I get a crash message I've never seen before - unlike the usual "program stopped working, send error or not" you get with any crashed program. Plus this only happens when I play on this particular dynasty and only when I call the timeout. Opponent calling timeout is fine in the dynasty, and when I play a regular exhibition, no problems whatsoever. Could there be a corrupt file in my dynasty? If so, which one and how cold I go about this?

As for the message, it reads: "NBA Live 08 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I only have one button to click and that is to Close Program. Nothing about sending errors.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Are we talking about a Legal copy?

Yes. Ive never had a crash before and its only on this particular dynasty so i'm assuming its something in that dynasty's folder.

Try deleting the currentdb and workingdb folders under your Documents\NBA Live 08\database folder. If that doesn't work, there might be a problem with the files in your save folder though that would be unusual unless you've edited them in some way.

that didn't work, but thanks for the suggestion! i just don't want to have to restart a whole new dynasty

Try starting a new Dynasty game, then copying the dbf files (make sure not to copy the save.dat file) from your old Dynasty to the new save folder.
